I can get a taste of how some of you think by knowing your answer to this scenario. Please answer using either option A or option B.
Scenario: A person who has similar fighting skills to you punches you in the face.
Is it harder to...
A) Punch them back
or
B) Walk away

I'd say its harder to punch them in the face, because you might know what the outcome might be
But walking away is just stupid and passive aggressive. |

@pepper0
Now replace the word "harder" with "better" and answer the question again. Just curious. |

| A, never just let someone treat you how they like, if you don't stand up and respect yourself, no one will. |

But why the face? Why not act smart and hit the weak points, as in where it hurts.
Also, isn't this thread outrageously off topic? |

| @Creatant, I feel better about myself standing up and getting beat up and it's easier for me to stand up for myself than to let them walk all over me. |

@pepper0
It's a psychological study, so no. I've been here long enough for this type of stuff to be considered on-topic.
Also, I never said punch them back "in the face". |

| I'd say it's harder to walk away because I'd be full of anger and I would have to use tons of self control to stop it from coming out. It'd be better to punch them back though because, even if I get arrested, it'll be worth it because my anger will be let out. |

| to me it's more of a matter of dignity than actual anger. I would be mad, but to me it's more important to assert that I'm not a little person that can be walked all over. |

Neither, it depends entirely on the context.
I have a very high threshold at which I will resort to physical violence, but a punch to the face changes things.
Until I gain further information, put me down for neither. |

| I misread, for me it's much harder to just "walk away" from any conflict. |

| Exactly. Anyone can swing back, but only a few tough people can walk away. |

| I don't go looking for fights, even today i saw someone who hates me, and if we did run into each other, there would have been a fight. But rather than walking up behind him and smacking him in the back of the head, (He didn't see me) I just decided to leave him alone, unless he starts something. |

| I am not an aggressive person so I would likely choose C. Ask them why they did that then verbally berate them. |

A. It's very easy to light my fuse. If I take a punch to the face, They will probably take a knee to the stomach. So, Yeah. But verbal? Nah. I'd just let it go. |

| This is a bit black and white question, but it would be harder for me to walk away than to react violently. |
