NASA is about to bring the Mars exploration back alive, by sending new exploration drones, named 'Curiosity'.
The curiosity drones will attempt to examine and investigate if Mars had, in any time of history supported microbial life.

realistically the odds of a swamp like environment or complex life being on mars at some point is very very slim.
If anything only small microorganisms. |

Scientists are currently looking for water, as they believe that water is key to life.
However, I don't think that alien organisms need water; they could use fuel or rock to live...
