(Planet Earth, circa 2100)

Humanity's on the tipping point. Earth's mined hollow. The population is overflowing at 11 billion people - The economy is almost completely destroyed. What little arable land that's left is either flooded or being built over to stop the housing shortage of the incredible population growth. Oil shoots through $50 a gallon on a good day. Small towns in the country can't even get essential supplies because of the fuel shortages on trucks. The lithium and solar-powered cars being made aren't even close to being enough to satiate the need of the masses. In places like India, so many millions are flooded that the government is practically non-existant in helping the people. Some parts of the world are so drenched in anarchy that killing your neighbour for a week's worth of food is an every day occurance.

When the world is on fire, man looked to the stars for solace. The moon was almost mined hollow, and Venus had nothing to offer for the foreseeable future. The colonization of Mars - started only a few years ago, is the de-facto hope for the lives of almost every man and woman on the planet.

Governments had nothing to do with the colonization of Mars - It was all done via the last powers in the world. The Giga-Corporations, whether anyone liked it or not, were the only groups that had even a chance of being able to fund a colony on Mars and make it last. By the end of 2109, at least a hundred million colonists were shipped to Mars for the colonization program from the world's strongest commerce superpowers, with at least a quarter of the to-be Martian colonists dying during the journey from complications.

Regardless of any casualties and costs (Everyone knew that they were too far gone to care), the colonization is a gold rush. The Corporations are scrambling to claim as much land as they can on the new planet, and it's completely lawless. Nations have no control over what their companies do on the Red Planet, and Corporate lobbying (Along with the general distrust between the people and the government) keeps it that way so that no governing system can get to Mars.

Corporations are raiding other corporations, with virtually no penalty. Weapons technology is advancing at a near vertical rate. Some are doing it for the sake of greed and stomping out competition. Every company has its own ambition. Some stay away from others to isolate themselves so that they can do their research/work better. Others are bent on warmongering to swallow smaller companies into their borders. Colonies and habitats turn into fortresses to guard a corporation's assets. Other companies mine the Martian soil dry and sell it back to Earth for lucrative prices, and expand their territory lightning-fast because of how fast they deplete their owned land. Some of the contenders on the Red Planet aren't even corporations at all - They're radical terrorist organizations, mostly underground. They're focused on fighting for an equal Mars by raiding the Corporations that they think are putting greed in front of Mankind's needs (Overpopulation, starvation, etc).

Lives are destroyed, hopes are lit and stomped, and morality is tested between personal greed and the greater good of humanity.


There's no guarantee for any man other than the promise that the choir of guns will sound beautiful.

Keep in mind, Mars is still a planet without atmosphere. Armoured exo-suits have virtually all functions you could name off the top of your head, from military assault troops to science surveying exo-skeletons. The technology at this time means that power armour is relatively easy to manufacture and able to let the user do a bunch of tasks without too much hindering.

Their craftsmen and miners, although few in number, are highly specialized in their craft. Often training in it from the day they turn twelve. Their military is a small, tightly knit group of brothers, defending Hailun to their last breath. Trap making is often required to get around manpower issues. Migrants are rarely accepted, only around 5-15 a year are allowed entry into the corporation. The Delar Corporation, although small, has a concentrated powerbase on Mars. But until the time comes the rooks must raid corporation supply caravans for materials, as well as manage their manufactoriums.

Faction Info (Fair amount - At least 2 paragraphs of faction info): Originally a group of disgruntled scientists who abandoned their abusive companies and colonies for freedom and to sell their talents elsewhere. After two days of wandering the red desert, they encountered a group of mercs. These mercs had been sent by the abandoned companies to recapture their rebelled scientists. The scientists, outmatched, retreated away from the mercenary band. However, the band was still able to follow, chasing the group into the legendary "Dead City." The mercs, too thinly spread, were unable to enter and called for reinforcements.

Meanwhile, the scientists discovered ancient traps, destroyed ocmxygen pumps and even documents. They learned of an ancient vault, hidden and only to be used in the event of emergencies. The scientists took the documents to prevent the mercs learning of it. The scientists made it to the city center; where the vault resided. They open the door to find food, oxygen, and to their shock, people. The people were uncivilized, a shadow of the colony's former citizens. The scientists gained shelter in return for reeducating the people, the two groups joined; becoming the Black Rooks. The group found ancient manufactoriums and archaic designs for power armor and weapons, they were powerful. However, while they did have the recipes and factories, they didn't have the materials, and thus, began raiding supplies from corporation caravans. Their leader is a scientist named Aron Schaffer.

Other Info: The rail gun works by fitting a projectile into the weapons firing chamber, then when the trigger is pulled, an electromagnetic pulse fires the projectile at high speeds, the result can be classified as a literal explosion.

Other Info: The H2 Hawk is the only one of its kind, as there is no resources available to create another. The ancient plasma reactor allows the Hawk the ability to fly for days without refueling. The reactor also allows a second defense in the form of a plasma shield.

Type: An assault rifle that shoots exploding bullets.
Appearance: What looks like a very normal assault rifle from modern times, is actually a devastating weapon that shoots exploding bullets (exploding on impact) at an automatic or semi-automatic rate.
Rate of Fire: Semi-automic or automatic.

Appearance: A modern times tank, but made out of extra-tough metal.

Other Info: Used by the military of Goldrush, mostly for defending, because it is pretty slow.

Goldrush was a large gold mining company on Earth, and was very popular. They had very large amounts of influence and money, and as always, craving for more they send colonies to Mars, in the hopes of getting more minerals that are valuable and can be sold for a high price. They are not hostile to any factions right now.

The day had just started. "Super" Miners, wearing exo-suits to make them more productive and efficient filled the mine. The refinery was pumping out gas from its chimneys. One miner came running to the supervisor, and he explained how he found a glowing blue gem in a branch of the mine. He was holding it in his dirt hands, it was truly a beauty. "I shall take this to the mineral expert." the supervisor said. "Now go back to work." the miner scurried back to his position.
A few minutes later, the expert was already observing the quite extraordinary gem. "I will take a sample of this and send it to the research facility in Golden City. They might be able to find out why this stone is glowing, so we could make light sources out of it."
He said, while wrapping it in highly protective styro foam (I think that is what its called) and putting it in a cardboard box.

Appearance: It is a light weight power armor, but very effective. It is black and white in color, with green plasma tubes running along the grooves of the armor, it's right hand is larger than the left and has long claws.
Info: The Rook's main attack suit, made from an highly durable design.

Type (Melee, ballistic, plasma, etc): Melee
Appearance: It is an overly big hand with large claws, wires flow in between grooves.
Rate of Fire: 5 seconds between swing.
Role (Assault, fire support, etc): Assault.
Other Info: The hand channels electricity to the claws, where, before impact, the electricity weakens the hull, leaving it to the mercy of the razor sharp claws.

Appearance: A thin body with a small tank at the back with a tube leading into the barrel.
Rate of Fire: Chargeable

Other Info: The other weapon used by the neuron suits, the tank is able to regenerate ammo over time using friction generated electricity.

The primary focus is for the future of humanity/the people, now if you are not apart of the Jaylan...goals, you could just say they are a bunch of military-focused freaks. The faction is mainly a monarchy, the leader, Connor Jay, leading them to "victory" on the "Red planet". The Civilians and military personnel follow his words, mainly due to how well he treats the citizens and personnel, though this does cause little resources to be sent over to technology advancement. The people normally are from places such as Europe and America, taking appearances from their, but stereotypically a Jaylan civilian would be aggressive to whomever threatens them. The Military personnel very-well have this aggressive-"ness" in war, causing them to how no mercy to their targets.

The suits and technology they produce is decent, DECENT, it isn't "amazing" but it isn't "terrible", this is mainly due to the resources not being used by the civilians as said. Connor Jay also developed money, like U.S Dollars/Change, or any other countries similar like Sweden's kroner. The money though is called "Credits" as you would imagine in a sci-fi scenario, no one really has a opinion on this. The military does have a U.S look, the flag on the right side of the shoulder, backwards, this is mainly due to having access to history records. The suits for the outside are mainly composed of tight-sealed metal with their own oxygen tanks, the suits also have HUDs.

Bio: Denning was born on Earth, not much info their besides learning much of Earths past and how "terrible" it was, he focused mainly on modern-ages, reading about its technology and tactics and how to improve them. He continued through life getting a bit more of a royal-feel, his father, Connor, is indeed a rich person and always wanted everyone to be treated fairly, but sadly Denning didn't really see this as "fair". Anyways life continued, when he was 18 he began training with weaponry and he was trained by some of the most best soldiers Connor could get, the training was brutal, but Denning Understood why. At 19, he heard of "Operation New World" focusing on taking Mars and building a country to use its own resources to escape the doomed galaxy, this excited him.

Appearance: A blue/yellow heavy military suit only 15% of the Human population can carry, Jaylan elites use this armor, Dennings is specifically modified so he could survive more then just the elites could. three oxygen tanks sit on its back inside a large metal box, a ammo belt follows around the belt area, a rifle/pistol holsters and medals line the suit, sealed to it, to show Dennings royalty.
Info: Most of it was told in appearance, in a nutshell: The suit is used by elites, but this one is designed to survive more then just the normal elite, it is also modified with a few "bonuses".

Appearance: Its looks like the OICW, but works differently. It has a barrel to fire rounds, that is above the grenade-launcher, the grenade launcher is slightly bigger in muzzle size. The gun is a basic grey.
Rate of Fire: Automatic.
Role (Assault, fire support, etc): Assault.
Other Info: Its given to all soldiers and standard infantrymen.

[Vehicle Sheet]

Class Name: Jayland Mech-class walker.
Type (Airborne, ground, walker, etc): Walker
Appearance: A lot like Steel Battalion VTs. It stands on two legs, about 18 FT tall driven by one driver, it is grey, a large barrel sits on its left and right, which is connected to the walls, they automatically reload from the ammo inside the vehicle. Under the suit is a small hatch where the person enters/exits, it also has a ladder just incase of odd...events. The top also has a hatch at that, and the inside holds multiple levers and buttons.
Equipment (Scanner, armour, drill, etc): A heart-beat sensor, heavily armored, it also holds a jet-flare like system to avoid locked-on missiles.
Armaments (If any): As stated, t fires a automatic machine gun.
Defences (If any): As stated, it fires a automatic machine gun from the left and right.
Size: 18 ft.

With atheism on thew loose, they decided it was time to get aggressive. They specialize in Military, hoping to capture factions to use as a new base. They are zealots by choice, and if noone follow's their religion, they will atleast have a few skirmishes with them. Despite being small, their military is quite strong. Not strong enough yet...

Appearance: A blue-Green armour that seamlessly fits onto anyone. It looks has a Green Visor, Blue Chest and legs, and a green boats. The gravity Stabilization System is right next to the air,a dn it compresses and decompresses when nesscary. The two tanks looks like crosses made out of metal.
Info: An easy to move in Combat suit. It is specifically made for distractions and urgent situations.

Motives/Goal (Reason for being on the Red Planet): Stopping corporate greed from capitalizing on human need and suffering, along with trying to balance the distribution of power and separating Companies from Politics

Active Military (Y/N): Y, all manpower on Mars affiliated with combat in some way, shape or form

Insignia/Logo/Emblem: Changes over time, but de-facto standard insignia is an upside-down layered pyramid, to symbolize the turning of the pyramid of power to the common man. Usually spray-painted black or red as sort of a gang sign, with a circle around it

Specialization (Weapons tech, mining, research, clandestine, etc): Sabotage and combat via small strike forces, opposed to larger armies

Faction Info (Fair amount - At least 2 paragraphs of faction info): The Merciful is one the largest out of at least a thousand underground radicalist groups. Like the others, the Merciful's roots come from among the lowest rungs of society in the 22nd century, those that struggled with the brunt of all of humanity's problems. The organization was founded in the hive city of New York, and only caught major attention in 2098 after the assassination of 4 Corporation CEOs in the Manhattan area within a span of only 2 days.

The Merciful is one of the only organizations whom have a direct link between the low class and themselves. This was shown on August 2105, when $500 million in shares were cracked by the organization and redirected from the stock market to be divided to workers' digital bank accounts in the Greater Manhattan Area. Because of the good relations between a good portion of the public, recruitment to the organization is never low in numbers because of the young that are willing to come out of the suffering of society and fight for a cause.

The black rooks begin exploring the city outside the vault, looking for materials. The group finds documents of an undiscovered metal mine. Sadly, the group has no equipment and so the black rooks must wait until they find someone willing to mine it for them.

Trent reviews the upgrade, a larger power source, however, it would make it more likely for a power source to be hit under fire, Trent rejects the upgrade, on the basis that spare power packs could be brought. The scientists nod and continue their work.
