Well the water does look alot better. It needed that improvement. Im hoping they add colour and murkyness to the water feature, aswell as making it non destrucable ! I planned on making an unwater brickbattle a while ago on an alt :( |

I like the better shaders, and perhaps the water, but they are focusing to much on the terrain itself, they are making it MC, terrible idea on that part...
But better ambient and Baked lightng is a wonderfull idea...
I just want it to stay as ROBLOX, not ROMESH, not ROCRAFT, ROBLOX!!!!! |

You guys obviously have no idea how shaders work. Basically it's adding a layer on top of what's there when things are rendered, usually doing some maths in the process to figure out lighting. I assure you, if you can run Roblox at 30 FPS now (which if you can't is very, very sad) you will be able to play at the same framerate after the update. The shaders aren't dynamic and appear to be done at start-up (dynamic objects don't get shadows) and most of them are just animations being repeatedly run in a loop (underwater) The new materials won't affect anything; they already exist and are just being modernized. There also appears to be a decent bloom shader which requires barely any resources and makes the game look beautiful.
If you think this update will ruin Roblox, you're seriously stuck in the time of no change. Change is good; it means better things. If you don't like change, you don't like improvement. I suggest you suck it up and ADAPT to this look if it ever comes about. It's a step in the right direction. Roblox wasn't made to have god-awful graphics and updating them to look less like blocks is a POSITIVE. Just because it is RoBLOX doesn't mean we need to keep it blocky. Blocks are simplistic, ugly shapes that are limited. Making things flow is appealing to the eyes and adds more realism which I assure you is not a bad thing. All in all, this update will be a good thing. I promise. |

Well, the new bloom shaders and moving geometric objects underwater will, surely cause the framerate to go down a bit.
However, this update I look forward to, but they should make sure that they do not decrease performance too.
