I had read a thread where it suggested for users to pick up objects,with hands. (Im not completely sure what it had fully said.) So,I believe that there should be a HAND tool,in which you can pick up objects,of course,this would be GREAT for assassins creed such games,and could be even better with obbies,where you can leap across structures,grabbing onto ropes.
Of course,its optional! |

This is scriptable. If it's needed in a place, the owner will simply add it from a free-model or make it themselves.

First it should be 3.0-
Second...this can be scripted. |

| I disagree with your 3.0- statement,as this adds to the body,not subtracting. |

Terrain wasn't scriptable. They had to introduce an entire new object class that would have modifiable vertexes so you can have one object to make terrain instead of thousands. In addition to this, they made it pseudo-3D and made it ignore all physics calculations as to make it the LEAST power-hungry as possible. It is not, in any way, shape, or form, possible to script that as the values needed to be edited to do so are locked properties that cannon be edited by scripts or the user.

@Wrestling
It also mean this thread is a piece of crap and needs to be flushed down the toilet. In other words...the thread should die. |

| How can a thread be flushed down a toilet,and die? If I am correct,a thread in virtual terms,is a forum post. |

There have been before that used bricks to form the terrain, and then later used WedgeParts. However, they are still calculated in physics operations and are still fully 3D. This alone caused lag at times, but then there were thousands of them bricks at once. The entire terrain object that we have has less lag than one, single brick. It's completely impossible to do that with anything else. You could get the shape, but not the size, complexity, or performance.

Also,Deoxy,tell me why you dont support,like Cobalt is doing. (He is doing a good job at not supporting.)
But yeah,the old terrain generators made by users lagged,but they still were generators. |

And I don't support because this can be scripted, I said so in my first post. |

| Also,perhaps there could be a kick feature to 3.0+,so soccer games,and games where you have to find a exit,would be funner. Like,lets say,you have to touch a pressure pad carefully,simple use of a kick tool! It would be optional,of course. |

If you are referring to the generation part then I completely agree - it was scriptable. But I'm referring to the object itself, who's properties couldn't be mimicked in any form without the help of admins. But I'm glad at least we can see where we're both coming from. It's rare to find a thread like that.

Terrain can be scripted. And you just made my point, about everything, including your idea, can be scripted. Thanks for helping me out. |
