In a mystical land of magic and mystery (The Three M's), there was a man...
This is a spinoff of The Quest for the Sacred Sword, which is currently ongoing but nearing the end, and it was completely inspired by Saronite1100's amazing creation. Amazing job, Saronite!
The rules are as follows: I will conjure up a scenario with a few different responses. For example:
A man corners you, a sword held against your throat. A. Punch him. B. Blow a raspberry in his face. C. Try to escape.
I wait for a bit for people to choose, then I come up with another scenario based off the last choice, and the process repeats. That's pretty much it.
Let's get started then, shall we?
You step outside your house into the sunny day and the village center. People are hustling and bustling about, going about their everyday business. An old man is ranting from a stage, and a young boy is waving papers in the air and proclaiming the news. A. See what the old man is ranting about. B. Get a newspaper from the boy. C. Go to the marketplace. D. Scream and flail your arms about as you enjoy the new day. |

Everyone stops what they're doing and looks at you. The entire village center is silent, except for your screaming. The old man beckons you to come closer, but other than that, everyone gives you just stares and gaping mouths. A. Go and see what the old man wants. B. Ignore the old man and ask what everyone's looking at. C. Run back inside and slam the door. D. Run around the village, flailing and screaming. |

You walk over to the old man. He continues beckoning until you're within whispering distance of him. With a voice that sounds like a dying toad, he says, "I believe you to be the Chosen One. You must embark on a journey, my friend. One that will take you across the world." Suddenly, he grins, showing toothless gums. "It may never end!" A. Ask about the Chosen One. B. Call him crazy and walk away. C. Ask about the journey. D. Ask where his teeth went. |

Random choice! A.
You ask what the Chosen One is. The old man gives you another toothless smile and says, "The Chosen One is a human chosen by the Great Mystery to embark on a quest. Every time the last one dies, the Great Mystery informs his followers on how to find the next Chosen One. This Chosen One was supposed to have such enthusiasm for a new day that he would scream and flail his arms in the month of Great Sun, in the year 2012 of the Second Age. You have just fulfilled that prophecy! Now, you must go on an epic journey!" A. Ask about the "epic journey." B. Ask who or what the Great Mystery is. C. Call him crazy and walk away. D. Ask where his teeth went. |

A.
You ask what the flabeejers the old man is talking about when he says "epic journey." The old man's smile fades. "You don't know very much about your destiny... Very well. The journey you must travel is a way to help humans attempt to solve the Great Mystery. I do not know what your quest will be, but it will be long and dangerous."
A. Ask where you can find out your quest. B. "Why dangerous?" C. Nod in understanding and ask how you begin. D. Ask about the Great Mystery. |

B.
"Why would the journey be dangerous?" you ask. The old man gives you a blank and slightly disappointed look. "There are monsters. Bandits. Evil forces from various tyrants. You know, the usual."
A. Ask where you can find out your quest. B. Demand a list of the tyrants who might want to attack you. C. Go to collect supplies for your journey. D. Ask why the old man is disappointed. |

Random choice (and partly to get away from the old man)! A.
You ask where you can discover your quest. The old man looks off to the west and says, "Well, friend, there is an Oracle far to the west. Go there, and she will tell you your quest. But you will need supplies. I suggest buying some from the market. Now, I must get going. Goodbye!" And with that he hobbles off into an alleyway. A few seconds later, a town guard follows him in.
A. Follow the guards and old man. B. Go buy some supplies. C. Go back home. D. Begin your journey without preparation. |

A.
You run after the guards into the small alleyway. You see the guards run around a corner, then you hear the old man's voice shout, "No! You can't take me back to the asylum! You just can't! I'm not crazy!" You turn the corner and see the old man being dragged away by the guards, kicking and screaming.
A. Help the old man escape. B. Decide the old man was crazy and move on with your life. C. Believe the old man and prepare for your quest. D. Shout some nasty words at the alleyway wall. |

Random! B.
You realize that everything the man had said was probably just a fantasy conjured from his imagination, and you decide to go back home. After a short walk, you're at your front door, but you have the odd feeling that you need to go someplace else...
A. Go inside anyways. B. Get ready to leave the village, even though you're almost positive the old man was senile. C. Check what the boy in the courtyard was shouting about. D. Hit the door in frustration. |
