This is a post, on the contrary of my other post "ANTI-BRONIES, DEBUNKED" (http://www.roblox.com /Forum/Show Post.aspx?PostI D=72390936), explaining to the general public of the ROBLOX forums how bronies came to exist, what bronies actually mean and lastly why people become bronies.
What are bronies?
Definition wise, they are male fans of the show called My Little Pony; Friendship Is Magic (often abbreviated to MLP;FiM or even just MLP). The word came from the mixture of 'Ponies' and 'Brother', implying male, and creating the word 'brony'. When we say 'fans', we mean they enjoy watching the show and/or participating their likes in different ways (an example would be 'fa.nart' of the characters presented in the show). People who thre.ate.n other people to like the show are, in fact, 'exr.em.ists' as they take their liking too far that is considered moral.ly correct by the majority of bronies themselves, and of course, the general public. Some female fans are called 'bronies' but are considered to be 'pegasisters' (pegasis + sisters).
How did people start becoming bronies?
This is a confusing one. I've been wanting to know this one, but for the sake of saving me writing, the reasoning from 'knowyourm.eme' seems legitimate:
"The Hub, which replaced Di.scovery Ki.ds. On Oct.ber 19, 2010, Cartoo.n Brew wrote an article about the show titled “The End of the Creat.or-Driv.en Era in TV Animati.on”, which had an oddly alar.mist tone to it. Threads on 4c.han’s comic and cartoon board, /.co/, attacked and made fun of the article for this reason. The article and the threads generated /c.o/’s initial interest in the show, causing several members to go and watch the first episode. After the second episode aired on October 22nd, threads about the ponies started to boom even more, gaining the show fans outside of its target demographic."
In short, an article mocking the show was taken apart in a subsection of 4c.han, causing popularity of the show. Soon, this increased up to a point where people outside of 4c.han heard about it.
WHY are people bronies?
This is, in my opinion, the most interesting question that is asked. First and foremost;
1. It is thought to be a genuinely good show for it's defined audience, from smooth animations to good story lines and moral basis, it is seen to be a decent show. Some people like the comical humour of the show, and there have been reports of references to bronies in the show.
2. Many bronies explain their liking of it as a dose of innocenc.e from the usual 'manly programs'. They like the fact that they would be accepted to show their true feeling about this show.
3. Some people enjoy the community, fan.base, fa.nart, and other things, such as music based around the show.
4. Some people like it just because other people do. These are a minority, and are often referred as people 'jumping on the bandwagon', i.e liking something just because a lot of other people like it.
(Gosh, that was a lot of typing)
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. |

I included two
"you exaggerate the cons"
That may be the case here. |

>Dat grammar.
My grammar is surprisingly good for internet standards. I just said "dem full stops" because it wouldn't make sense if I said "dat full stops". |

Apologized, though the use of the English language has so many flaws it's difficult to criticise anyone to be taken seriously. |

"use alt codes"
Tested it in a test reply and it didn't work at all. Unless you have some up-to-date working ones you can share.
PLEASE post on-topic about the thread! D: |

Considering the amount of misinformed anti-bronies, I'd say a lot...? |

People don't like being informed if it changes their views.
