Or what it is for?

Does anyone here know what Blender is? ohh ya Or what it is for? 3d animation,model creation, has a nice game engine. and a renderer.. some other things Or how to use it? still learning... Or is skilled in its use? still learning Just curious. any particular reason |

I do as well. Though I haven't really figured the interface out yet, and I'm not too confident with my modelling abilities in it.

| ya, im no expert.. but id say that learning the interface to blender.. is like a jigsaw.. its really weird.. but when you figure out.. you love it |

I am trying to decide on an official Roblox mesh format. There are a lot of things to consider, one of which is how possible it would be for a determined hard core modder to create new models (brick types) for Roblox.
Blender is hard to use but free
3DS Max is standard but costs a bajillion dollars
Milkshape is probably impossible to write an exporter for, but is cheap
Transcoding formats is possible, but at the expense of my sanity, which I value.
I've successfully had meshes importing from 3DS Max into Roblox since August, but we got side tracked with more important things and now I am getting back to it. |

| yeah i have tried blender but i like rhino3d alot better but rhino costs money so i guese blender is ok its just hard to learn |

| The everyday user will not notice anything is different except that we will have some parts that are not {box, sphere, cylinder}. Archways, sloped pieces, cool looking weapons, ect will make their way into the game. |

| I know what a BLENDER IS! :D It's something you put food in and mush it up into things like Soup or Smoothies. :) |

| Heh, didn't even notice this was old. And they still haven't done what they actually promised in this thread, too. Either that, or making slanted/hill/ramp pieces is turning out to be really really hard. |
