Don't even give me that Reagan stuff, anyone educated knows he did a bigger tax increase then the AHC had done, and if you though the AHC tax increase was MASSIVE you can thank regean for beating the "Massiveness" of the AHC tax increase. Notice it was also during the 1980's Recession

*faceplant* Thats the argument every idiot makes.

What reagan did was made taxes fair and low.

He LOWED those to the rich and INCREASE for the poor so then the tax rate would be at a flat rate of 20%

THus, our economy boomed until the Bush tax cuts.

LOL, are you that deaf to reality?

Any nation that has had Low Taxes and less government regulation has had a booming economy, because the people know how to spend their money better than the government can.

So droid, you just contradicted yourself. fox is using pure assumed idiocy, when I am the only one that presented the facts.

Charts show nothing, especially when people are always moving in and out of them all the time.

I'm going to be reviewing both of your "evidence" and see who I agree with.

The real prime of the United States was within the 1980s - the turn of the century 2000

Reagan my have created a huge deficit, but he set the stage for it to be paid off. With these low and flat tax rates, the government would earn more revenue. 10 years later, we ended up with a SURPLUS in money, something unprecedented in American history. We where very close to eliminating the deficit AND the debt. But then Bush came along in 2000 and introduced his tax cuts that ruined everything.

What Fox is confused about is what a Flat tax is.

he is thinking that everyone pays the same AMOUNT

but really a flat tax is when the people pay at the same RATE

If a person earns 1$ and pays 20% in taxes, and another person earns 10$ and pays 20% in taxes, they still keep 80% of what they make, but the richer person still pays more.

Therefore, people have the chance to work harder, so then they earn more because they know that they get to keep more of what they make.

Doesn't anyone know what a marginal tax rate is anymore?

The marginal tax rate may have been 90%, but it doesn't include various deductions that existed at the time that would have made the effective tax rate far lower. Rich people were not paying 90% of their income in taxes.
