I use to be able to be in studio mode, AND walk around with my character, now I can't. Now I have to either make a choice, have my character and be able to do very little with my game, or just be floating not being able to test out my game while I build it. I put in a script that is supposed to change a character's bricks into spawns, and I have NO WAY OF KNOWING IT IT WORKS. If I go into studio mode so I can click my character's parts to see if they are spawns, I HAVE NO CHARACTER TO SELECT. If I go into "Build Mode" I have a character, but NO "EXPLORER" or "PROPERTIES" or any of the studiobar. I mean, what the heck? Why would you remove features? Is this just a technical problem? |

| I want to be able to walk around my games, experience my games, while I am forming them. It use to be SOO much easier to build games, now it is too hard. "Build tools" that do not work? No copy and paste tools? Studio mode, but without a character? Ugh |

I'm not sure whether it was intentional or not or how longer ago this update was, but you can no longer access Studio tools in Build mode.
You should be using Edit mode. This allows you to build everything in a static environment - you can build with no physics or scripts running, which was impossible in build mode. If you want to test something, hit the green play button in the toolbar, or if it requires the character, press tools -> test solo. |

Ugh, no I need studio mode AND the character. The tools in "Build" mode don't work for me, they never have. I can't test a script I made in "Play" because I need to see the properties of my character, as it is a script that changes key character parts, (or is supposed to, but I have no way of checking it..) This is extremely frustrating, I love ROBLOX but what in the world would possibly make the owners want to remove features like that!? |

I'm not sure when they removed it or whether it was intentional or not.
To access the (near enough) equivalent of the old Build mode, open your place in Studio and press Tools -> Test -> Play Solo. That will open up your current Studio place with a character and the Studio tools - make sure you press "save as", not "save", or it will save it to the roblox Visit place which does not make any actual changes to your place.
The best way to build is to do most of your editing in Studio then when you want to test something, or make a specific feature which is easier with constant testing, open test solo and close it when you have finished. |

| I really see a lot of these rants about things not the way they want with studio due to updates. Just learn the program in its entirety and this is not a problem. If you figured out what everything does you have no reason to complain on the wrong forums. |

| Yes, but updates are supposed to make things easier for users, are they not? Not make updates that hide features that were normally easy to access, and make users have to learn the entire program to do a simple they they use to be able to do. This is a "rant" worthy subject. |

| There is one way to access studio mode while having your character walk around... First go to studio how you would normally (edit mode) then while in edit mode click tools then go to test then click play solo and another will open up and it'll load up studio along with your character the only thing im not entirely sure about is how you actually save when you click save it'll ask save changes to place one click yes although im not sure if it actually saves to your place or not (IT SHOULD) so to be safe make whatever you made into a model. Oh and when you click exit in play solo if the ask save window doesn't pop up go to edit mode it'll probably ask if you wanna save there first click yes or no then when that window closes it'll ask you if you want to save what you've built in play solo |
