Well, technically, Oxygen causes us to age, and allows us to develop diseases.
So, stop breathing air, and you'll live forever. |

what? a lack of oxygen isn't going to prevent you from getting, say, lyme disease or something. |

There's a reason when experimenting people, they put them in liquid instead of just air.
air transmits diseases and allows you to age through your body working.
liquid can still transmit diseases, but they just need to clean it once and seal it off, no diseases possible.
While air creates diseases on its own in certain places. |

| Everything organic dies. We are made of organic material. We can die from various things, such as the failure of the heart, which stops enriching the blood in our body. |

The body of an organism is basically a machine. It has to wear off some time.

It's like a brick wall, the more you hit it with a sledgehammer, the weaker it gets.
In the end, the body is exhausted. |

Quite a few diseases can be created through contact with the air.
Diseases aren't made in the ground. At least, not all of them. |

If there was a cure to that 'erosion' of the body's strength, people would theoretically become immortal.
Why should be make a cure? It costs money to keep a man alive. |

| No, listen, you can GET a disease from contact with air. The disease was already in the air floating around, but now it's in you. The air didn't create it. Organisms don't just pop out of thin air. |

Certain organisms are created by a certain thing combined with the air.
Ever heard of airborne disease? That's when a disease has adapted to create itself through the air, and spread itself in that manner.
Also, Immortality has already been achieved, but one is never truly immortal, if they do not live, during the time they live forever.
The idea of immortality is...sketchy, at best. |
