It was so scary! I couldn't move my arms and legs, and I couldn't speak. And some demon/monster/evil force or whatever was on top of me and strangling me and it was saying something. I couldn't breathe.

That was scary

I once slept on my arm too long and it felt like it wasn't there for about 20 seconds.

Whenever I have sleep paralysis, I just look around a bit, try to move, give up, then go back to sleep. You should try it some time.

@Super
Yeah, I almost went into sleep paralysis, I creeped out too. :P
I think if you want to get out of it, you should wiggle your toe, because it's mainly your bigger muscles that are paralysed.

Kind of related but not quite, but have you ever experienced a jolt, right before you're about to fall asleep, where it feels like you're falling? Freaks me out, man.

Sleep Paralysis isn't scary. As I said. Just fall back asleep, wake up later, move. There you go.

I know most there is to know about sleep paralysis.

FIRST-That thing sitting on your chest, that's your nervous system shutting off. Sleep paralysis is being in a sleeping state but your mind is awake, and when you're asleep many of your bodies systems shut down until you wake up. If it didn't, you'd act out your dream in your sleep, i.e if you're running in your dream you'd be running in your bed (or however your run while lying down) And when the nervous system shuts down it's harder to breathe, and because people get freaked out in SP they imagine a demon or monster strangling them.

SECOND-There's nothing to be afraid of, but this is all very sensitive. It's like a dream, if you think about something it'll most likely happen if you think it might. So if you think a monster is gonna come through your doorway you'll see an imaginary monster your mind created. But you need to remember it's not real. You can turn it into a waffle or whatever, doesn't matter because it's all in your head.

THIRD-Like I said, it's very sensitive. If you think to yourself "Don't think about a demon sitting in the corner" you'll see a demon sitting in the corner. Thinking about not thinking about something can be confusing so I'll keep it short, don't think anything scary, don't think to not think about anything scary, etc. etc.

FOURTH-Like in the first thing, I said your nervous system and other things shutdown. It prevents you from moving. Therefore you can't move (no duh) so you can't really move from your bed, or speak from the systems shutting down. And many things that you do see and do do are in your mind, so keep that in mind.

FIFTH-No you can't die from SP.

SIXTH-If you need to wake up but can't (trust me it can be an issue) you need to focus all of your energy on wiggling some part of your body. You need to try hard possibly because like I said, you can't move, but I've read about people who wake up that way. Wiggling a finger or toe somehow works, I'd need to try that myself to find out why though.

SEVENTH-Besides wiggling, try changing your breathing pattern. Maybe breathe faster to startle your mind, kind of like an inception kick to wake up. That should work well, because if your body panics its systems jolt to life obviously, and you'll be free. Again, I can't assure this but I've read much on waking up that way and it makes sense to me.

EIGHTH-If you're doing this to lucid dream, it's not worth it. I've had about 5 lucid dreams (I fly like a pro, I can post about that if people need help flying in dreams) And in those 5 lucid dreams I never needed SP, I just realized I was dreaming. Of course this is challenging, but for the month I was super interesting in lucid dreaming and sleep paralysis I found some ways, including-Throughout the day ask yourself if you're dreaming. DO NOT just say no automatically. You need to take a step back and say "No I am not" (not out loud of course) and if you get into a habit of this, you can do this in your dream, then realize "Whoa, this is a dream!" [*Warnings You may freak out in a dream and either wake up instantly from the excitement (happened to me the first time) Or get freaked out and imagine more monsters and demons that would appear in dream because well, you imagined them. And my friend asked himself if he was dreaming a lot, but automatically said "No" so in his dreams when he asked he just said "No".*] Also when you wake up, try to remember as much of your dream as you can. You may start seeing patterns. That has also worked for me, because I saw symbols that reoccurred in my dreams and realized it was a dream.

NINTH-Tell me about anymore SP or lucid experiences if you can/wanna. I'm interested in this sort of stuff (as you can see)

TENTH-If you need anymore help, with SP problems or lucid advice, PM me or something. I can most likely help.
