Well if you want sound to come out of your HDTV, I would recommand getting a GTS 450 or the GTX series of graphic drivers so you can use a HDMI cable to plug into your tv.

here, I'm getting a new computer soon. Instead of getting a monitor for it, I think I might just hook it up to my 47inch TV. What do you think? Monitor, or no monitor?

Pearl, do you mean like a graphics card? If so, that's not really a problem. I'm getting an Alienware. So it already has a pretty good graphics card in it.

Slash. Considering the Size, I don't think a crappy GPU will handle 47". Which gpu are you getting? I recommend a GTX 480/ati 6950 at least.

IHavenolife, my 2007 computer can run at 1900X1080 pixels with no lag...

Oh, god slash, don't get Alienware, they're overpriced. Either, make it yourself, get someone else to make it for you, or go to PC specialist.co..._m. They've got a custom build which is cheapest.

Jrlak, really? They're not too expensive. I mean, if I wanted something overpriced I'd get a Mac. It's only $800. Not too bad.

Yeah, they're pretty O.P if you build yourself you will save a lot of money. The prices are fluctuated because of mainstreaminess.

A GT is ok... It can run good graphics, and HD support, GTS and GTX are mostly used for good gaming.

A gt45, will handle BF3 ultra at 1920x1080 at about 25FPS, at a higher scale res, then big boom hit the floor.

The only games I'd really run are Minecraft, Portal, TF2, and maybe GMOD. Would that card handle it?

Oh right, well maybe, it depends on how much is on the screen at the same time. I thought you were going to play Crysis or something.

Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes, Graphics doesn't matter to run games, if your CPU is higher then 3.0GHz, it can run it.

@Pearl, that's a lie. A GPU is the most important thing for gaming. also, a CPU doesn't need to be 3.0GHZ to run those games. You can run them with a cpu with 2.0GHZ is you have a good GPU.

True, it's sort of a lie, but most games these days are recommanded to play at 3.0GHz.
