| For the next revision of the RBXPri Launcher, I think I may cut support to Windows XP in favor of using API functions that are only available in Vista and newer versions of the Windows OS. Before I even consider doing this, I would like to know what percentage of Roblox users still use this outdated operating system, so I can judge whether I should use ugly hacks to work around it, or cut support in favor of new functions. |

| Cut support for Windows XP? IE9 did that. You see how they turned out. |

@myrkos
To be specific, I was thinking about using RegLoadAppKey for settings, as using the registry API is easier than manually writing settings to text files. |

y u no use Qt:
QSettings settings("pewp","RBXPri");
settings.setValue("idk",1337);
std::cout << settings.value("idk").toInt() << std::endl;
naaah jk. I don't even know if you're using C++, and if you are, it's probably not worth linking the whole Qt library just for that. |

@Popin
No version of Windows has ever had that disgusting and horrible thing. Which is good.
I've used Windows 8 for a few months, and I'm on the Metro hater side now. It's only good for tablets, not real machines. |

| Who cares about Java's memory consumption, anyway? It's not like a Java program has ever made your system run out of memory, has it? |

Pretty good, actually. Microsoft was able to make a more attractive UI and integrate it into the system better because of the new APIs. It's also faster, and (although unrelated to API support) it follows web standards better than its predecessors. I'd say it was a good idea of Microsoft dropping support of XP in IE9 in later because it allows them to move ahead on their own platform without restrictions of old APIs and whatnot. |

@LocalChum I've been using Windows 8 since the Consumer Preview was released and metro is growing on me. I'd rather have a multi-desktop thing (kinda like GNOME on Linux does, except in the hot-corner style of Windows 8) but it's okay. The only Metro application I use is the Remote Desktop one, because it's just so cool to be able to use the upper-left of my screen to switch between my system and the remote system.
@Myrkos I've never run out of memory, ever. I use Google Chrome and Java and probably a bunch of other memory-hogging applications, and I've never hit the top of my 8GB. |

Sorry for the double post.
@Pokelover890 Do you know if IE10 is going to install on anything but Windows 8 when it's fully released? If that's the case, there are going to be a lot of people still using IE9 with Windows 7 because of their stupid theory of "every other version being awful" after dealing with both ME and Vista. |

Also, on the topic of IE10, I found this:
"When it's released, Internet Explorer 10 will be available for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2012."
So IE9 will be killed off fairly quickly after Windows 8 gets released. |

@lombardo2 You know, if I had to use Linux, I'd probably use Fedora or Gentoo over Ubuntu. |

| Like 7 month ago I accidentally installed ubuntu in the main partition, completely wiping out Windows, had to use Ubuntu for 3 months lol. I have never tested other linux distribution so I can't really say if Ubuntu is better than Fedora or Gentoo |
