(Script is placed inside Camera using a local script and Brick has the Player's name)
[Build mode] Workspace>Camera>Brick>Script = Script works perfectly.
[Play mode] Workspace>Camera>Brick>Script = Script doesn't run
Is this a glitch or something? |

I agree with oysi that it is pretty weird to put it into the camera. If you want localscripts, as said before, would fit nicely into the StarterGui or starterpack, as it is automatically distributed to the player.

Btw, the script is only supposed to be activated once, so putting it in any of the places you mentioned wouldn't work, because once you died, the script would break.
And my friend told me that the best place for the script was the player's camera. |

This is why I hate going on this forum, you ask a simple question and get people mocking your lack of knowledge and methods as if you're better than me or something.
I've been too busy learning DM, GML, Alice, Batch file, HTML and developing C sharp XNA games for the Xbox 360 to pay too much attention to the pointless features of Lua. Will you still look down on me like you're superior? |

Why the heck are you putting a script inside the camera? That's like the weirdest thing to do, ever...
There is no need for a localscript to be there, it can be ran nicely from the backpack, playergui, character, what have you. And it makes no sense for a normal script to be there, because it's a freakin' SERVER script, and cameras are CLIENT objects.
]]
I put my engine scripts(they are local) in there :) They are only copied there at playerAdded
This way they aren't messed with or interrupted on death. |

z0mg
So you can do all that but you can't find something so simple as whether a script runs in a virtual game out?
wow. Just wow. and you call Lua pointless.
I refuse to help you. |

| Half the people here know at least twice as many languages as you listed sufficiently enough to use them for a basic game without looking much up. So yeah, you are inferior, to be fairly blunt. |

| And the funny part is one of the languages he listed looks like it's drag and drop xD |

HTML is useless by itself so that's most likely a lie. And adding on to what SN0X said. If you're learning all those, how come you don't understand something as simple as Lua? And Lua can be more useful than you'll ever be. |

"Sorry, i'm too busy having a life to learn the proper ways to use Lua." Love it when people who can't code nor want to learn how to code use the "life" excuse. |

Because we code we have no life? Bahahaha that is a huge fallacy. That is like saying cause we actually do something with our time we have no life.
I guess cause I have a job I have no life. I guess cause I hang out with my friends I have no life. I guess cause I play sports I have no life. I guess cause I go on vacations I have no life.
Yeap guys I just have no life! All because I do stuff with my time. |

GML has Drag&Drop features but it's not fully drag&drop. I don't find it to be as useful as lua though. And GML won't get you far as it only applies to Game Maker. Where lua can be used as library extensions and what not.
GML = Game Maker Language |

GML. lul
Even if it's partially drag & drop, that's just funny.
Well, I'm not sure but at school we have this little drag and drop language thing called "Scratch". It's really bad. You can't include variables in if statements waa :( |

You mean every bool you use in if statements must be constant?
What's wrong with that language :O? |

Yes.
Key: [] = text box {} = drag and drop thingy
A code to move a player left and right sort of looks like this:
{when [left arrow] key down,} {move [bob] avatar [-1] step's} {when [right arrow] key down,} {move [bob] avatar [1] step's}
Well, it's good for beginners, but it's kinda funny, really. I mean, there are bloomin grammar errors in the drag and drop thingys.
