| Banana is the common name for herbaceous plants of the genus Musa and for the fruit they produce. It is one of the oldest cultivated plants. They are native to tropical South and Southeast Asia, and are likely to have been first domesticated in Papua New Guinea.[1] Today, they are cultivated throughout the tropics.[2] They are grown in at least 107 countries,[3] primarily for their fruit, and to a lesser extent to make fiber, banana wine and as ornamental plants. Its fruits, rich in starch, grow in clusters hanging from the top of the plant. They come in a variety of sizes and colors when ripe, including yellow, purple, and red. |

| It doesn't matter. If a lot of people jumped off of a bridge yesterday would you jump off one today? Also, it makes you look like an idiot if you don't at the very least put it into your own wording. |

>there's a rather large difference between posting wikipedia articles and jumping off a bridge
The difference is one bridge. |

Unless it's a very large wikipedia article. |

Your logic seems to be "other people did it yesterday so it must be OK for me to do it". Plagiarism is not ok. |

>still a relatively large difference
Not really. If it's a small bridge and a large wikipedia article, the article could very well be larger than the bridge. |

>Plagiarism is not ok. yeah it's not ok but you well know i can't get fined/whatever for copy+pasting a wikipedia article. that's like only if you turn in something and say you made it up

>size is not the only variable, i hope you realize
Indeed. But if it is an article about bridges then there isn't much of a difference. |

Except you didn't give proper credit, so you very well could get fined. I doubt they would fine you, but that doesn't make it alright. |

@meldo The saying I got was "if a whole bunch of people jumped off a cliff, would you too?" I said "Yes, knowing that thier bodies would break my fall..." I got a beating afterwards. |

It's the most interesting conversation that I have read on this site all day. |
