I saw him last night, and he suggested I listed to Black Veil Brides, cause they... And I quote, "Rock on". (╯ಠ▃ಠ)╯︵ ┻━┻

You have a cool dad omg Even though BVB are terrible, it's a start Mine only ever listened to classical music and country and if you said "rock on" to him he'd probably be like "sedimentary or igneous?" Not fair :(

| Yep, that's a reason to punch your dad. Some of you music fans are just too freaking sensitive..... |

>I have to live with my mom, so I never see the cool family members. ._. omg this exactly But both sides are terribly boring Except uncle Lloyd he's been arrested and he's funny he's cool and my brother because METAL But everyone else is just like, "hey I'm a librarian," "hey I'm a lecturer," "One is an intellectual," "I am very English," or "IMMA REDNECK YA'LL"
So there's no hope whatsoever for either side of my family, musically or otherwise. :'(

Oh, wait, my granddad loves Iron Maiden, so that's five cool people in my family (because I count as two, obviously).

Around the time I was 9 and when I began getting an interest in music, I only listened to whatever my parents liked at first. My mom liked lame stuff like Madonna and my dad liked awesome stuff like Slayer.
Elementary school was fun. |

My dad listens to a lot of popular classic rock and metal. My mom used to listen to mostly alternative rock, but I mostly hear her listening to what's on top 40. |

I always joke around with my parents, because my mom listens to heavy metal, and my dad listens to classic rock (I always say they switched genres at birth). But, because of them, I listen to everything I can get my hands on. From classical, to screamo. The only thing I won't listen to is mathcore. Sorry to anyone who does. I just can't stand it.
Oh, and to Aus, I think you two will find solid ground with Mumford & Sons. They're an indie rock band with elements of bluegrass in their music. |

I've tried them before. My mum's partner loves them. Q.Q No, just no. The only bluegrass-ish band I like is Casa De Chihuahua, but that's besides the point. M&S are dreadful, in my opinion. :(

I got to thank my stepfather for the music he showed. Many bands I like I discovered because he showed me them. (Epica is the best example for me).
I got waaaay more in common with him than my real father. He also tolerates my dream to become metal musician, father is not very excited about it. He rather wants me to work in an office. |

My mom likes some good stuff, but mostly just classic rock and pop. Ugh. My dad's better. He listens to some classic rock, but then he listens to thrash metal and heavy metal. He's why I love bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, and Black Sabbath now. Fun fact: My dad has been to concerts by Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Testament, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Motorhead and Venom. My dad is awesome. -- ~The official Medic of OT and MT!~ |

"make your dad listen to dubstep" "Wanna switch dads?" "other dad-related comments directed at me"
I'm not sensitive or anything but shouldn't me talking about him in past tense imply that he is no longer around ._. Or maybe I can't type Or maybe you can't read So many possibilities .___________.

I don't mind, don't worry. With things like this I tend to worry if it was my "fault" for not being clear or something, ahaha. It's fine. :P
