Or:

| I know about terminal commands, but there are many bugs and issues that suround linux because of hardware and driver incompatiblity. True most of these can be fixed, but not without extensive forum and wiki browsing and more than a dozen steps in terminal which you can end up bricking the entire OS. |

Actually, there is no " better " OS. It all depends what you want to use it for.
In a nutshell I'd have to say windows for gaming applications and Linux for everything else. You will have a hard time creating profitable games to sell to the Linux crowd because it is so diverse. Just go to distrowatch.com and you can see how many flavours of Linux are out there.
The difference between developing on Linux and Windows is going to be measurable in two categories: expertise and money. Both environments offer integrated development environments, but Linux is geared toward users with a technical bend and will take a bit more time to fully master. You'll have to learn Linux to use it to its fullest capacity, but if you do you'll find that you are not lacking for tools or examples from others who are working on the same type projects you are. If you go with windows you'll find that you have to pay client licenses for many of the tools you'll use so the expense can mount up. |

Sure Ubuntu runs fine on many machines, but the problem is ubuntu and unity is not for everyone.
I kinda like Xubuntu's XFCE but I cant see myself using it for regular use. |

| I enjoy using LXDE; it's minimal, fast, and efficient, with very little distracting visual effects. |

Because my computer is not a phone.
you don't make a mobile phone OS into something for PCs, that's just not right |

..I downloaded Windows 8. The worst crap I have experienced. Seriously, though, I want a normal computer, not a tablet. .~. Don't try this at home, kiddies. |
