The court of the king of Endran has seen and weathered many things, from assassination attempts to rebellion it has always held firm. A new law that is currently being discussed in the court to deal with corrupt officials across the kingdom. If it is passed investigations will be more easily made and the punishment for corrupted officials will be severe, death by hanging. Understandably many of said officials are not happy about this prospect and a coalition of them has hired a doppleganger assassin, one of the best, to murder those in the king's court supporting the law.
System notes For determining some things where there is chance involved I am using a stripped down D20 system to generate the variation in numbers. (Notably in combat with NPCs) as well as to determine who out of the people who want to be the doppleganger actually is the doppleganger When the doppleganger is caught and/or killed I will take a vote to see if people want to restart with a different doppleganger. Yes it is Doppleganger not Doppelganger, the former is a shape-shifter, the latter is an evil twin.
IMPORTANT NOTE: if you want to be the doppleganger you must PM me. There is a special set of information you will need.
Rules I control NPCs unless you are otherwise informed In combat you do not automatically hit ANYONE! This includes NPCs and other players. It's not in the rules is not an excuse, if you try to use it get your sorry behind out of the RP forum. Your goal is not to wander around wantonly slaughtering people (anyhow trying that will get you killed (100% guarantee by weight of numbers. There are a lot more royal guardsmen NPCs than there are you.) Your sheet must be accepted You must be respectful to players (not necessarily characters, but players.)
Important notes: This is a medieval fantasy set in a Europe like (not actual Europe) setting. AKA Katanas, ninja tos, shuriken, kuni, and the like do not exist in this setting. End of story, no exceptions. It is all set in one city, please do not venture beyond the surrounding country side The Currency is in the following order of value from most to least: platinum coins, gold coins, silver coins, copper coins. Each coin is worth 10 of the next value of coin below it.
Explanation of Character Sheets
Weapon sets: This is the set of weapons and armor you are trained with and initially have. Royal guardsmen have multiple trained sets but are only equipped with one initially. Some weapon sets are only available to certain classes.
Skills: pretty self explanatory, however some skills have prerequisites which means you need the skills or weapon set there to use it.
Character Sheets
Noble- one of those who is in the court of the king. Name: A.ge: Weapon set: (Only one. See list below.) Other Gear: (no weapons) Skills: Negotiation, deceive and three other skills Appearance: Bio: (at least 6 words) Supports the new law: y/n
Royal Guardsman- the guards of the king, his castle, and the court Name: Age: Trained weapon sets: (pick 2) Equipped weapon set: (one of your trained weapon sets.) Skills: (pick 2 (see below) Appearance: Bio: (At least 6 words)
Weapon Sets Some weapon sets also offer skills.
doppelsoldner- two handed sword, short sword, buckler, chainmail with solid breastplate (Royal Guardsman only) Swordsman- longsword, kite shield, full plate Archer: longbow, long dagger, studded leather armor. Has marksman skill Crossbowman: crossbow, short sword, chainmail (Royal Guardsman only) Guardsman: Halberd, short sword, half plate, crossbow (Royal Guardsman only) Duelist: Rapier, padded armor, 3 throwing daggers (Noble only) Assassin: Long Dagger, 6 throwing knives, hand crossbow, camouflaged cllothing (Noble only) Trained in stealth and athletics skills Rogue: Short sword, shortbow, studded leather armor (Noble only) has spot and athletics skill
If you want to create your own weapon set you must PM it to me first. Do not expect me to allow it though.
Skills
All people even those not trained in a skill can use it, if you're trained you're just better at it. ~Standard skills Negotiation- using words and other means to reach a peaceful conclusion. Doesn't work in all situations Deception- this is mostly verbal though it has other uses (like pretending you're someone you're not) Stealth- doing actions without notice (ex. running) Spot- chance to see something that may be hidden or isn't obvious (Such as finding someone sneaking around in the shadows) Athletics- things, such as running quickly , climbing up a wall Unarmed fighting: You know how to fight effectively without a weapon ~Weapon Skills (You may only have 1 of these) Blade master- you're extremely good with a sword. Prerequisite: Swordsman, duelist, or doppelsoldner weapon sets (just need one, not all 3) Marksman- you're extremely good with a bow and are very capable of hitting distant targets accurately Prerequisites: rogue, archer, or crossbowman weapon sets (Just need one, not all three) Veteran Guardsman- You have been a guard for a long time. You can easily detect lies and people sneaking around and you can fight very well with your weapons. Prerequisites: Guardsman weapon set Poisoner: You can use poison on your weapon Prerequisites: Assassin or rogue |
