This is something that I have been wanting to get off of my chest. Basically, Huxlian principles state that society will be destroyed by hedonism, and Orwellian principles state that society will be destroyed by mind control and brutality (VERY simplified). Well, both of these doctrines are playing out on this site, and it is very disturbing.
This is how things on Roblox work: the average Roblox player hears of a new game change that makes him mad, said common Roblox player sees a new hat release, said common Roblox player buys said new hat, the aforesaid player then plays cheap games for instant gratification, all the while ignoring the new, unpopular gameplay mechanic. This is more of a Huxlian principle. Essentially, the figureheads are pushing out more clothing and things to adorn your virtual avatar. The virtual avatar in itself is a general Huxlian tool used to alienate one from one's real environment; the online currency also functions like this.
Here's an Orwellian principle: the mods employ the users of this game to do their work. Here's an example: it is a general rule that no player shall persecute another player because all players are essentially equal (which is false). However, when it comes to ODers, criminals have no rights, and as such they MUST be persecuted, and this persecution is not recognized by the mods. Essentially, Roblox players think that all Robloxians have equal rights and shouldn't be persecuted. Paradoxically, Roblox players think that ODers, whether they are provably ODers or not (persecuting others based on clothing), should be persecuted. All Robloxians are equal, however offenders or perceived offenders have limited rights and are persecuted.
And these are just two weak examples. |

| Just think about. When does anyone refer to his avatar as "my avatar?" One starts to accept one's avatar as a part of one's self. |
