| Today I installed Fedora 17. It was so hard for me to use with .rpm files. Ubuntu has a larger community and is easier to use. If you are a beginner and want to use linux, like me, go with Ubuntu LTS. Ubuntu has a sofrware center with one click installs. You wont need to use the terminal that much. If you like .rpm based distros, go with fedora. |

Not that I'm a pro at Linux, I enjoy using the terminal, it's much faster and efficient.
I'll probably go for Ubuntu, though. |

| Oh, and if you Like fedora because of its appearance, you can download gnome-shell in the software center, log out, click the ubuntu circle next to your user name and change it to gnome. It will make it look like Fedora. Hope you find the distro that works best for you (: |

On the subject of Gnome, what desktop environment do I go for?
Unity doesn't feel right. |

| Personally, I dislike Unity too. Search Cinnamon. Its made by the developer of Linux Mint. Its more like Gnome 2 but its up-to-date. Their is Youtube videos on it. But you could always take the gnome 3 route to. I use Cinnamon on my Ubuntu desktop. |
