Utopia
Alexander V. Jacob was known as the greatest inventor of all time. He had created the hologram, the Ear, and had removed the human race’s dependence on fossil fuels. He had been infected with the PS:E parasite, as it would be later called, and began to slowly go insane. The most clever, inventive man’s mind began to scramble. He couldn’t create feasible ideas because his brain, as he said, “Was operating on a higher level than reality.” His international company, Vexryllus Sciences, went bankrupt. Every Ear device stopped functioning correctly because his Supernet, APOX, wasn’t maintained. He did, however, have access to the Internet. Counter-intuitively, he had hosted the Ear network on the Internet. He assassinated the Leader of the Order, Zekiel Dannings, in the year 0257 AO, and instated himself through a rigged popular vote. The Order was the reigning international government, a very precise mix of socialism and capitalism. There were no wars because the people were happy and only a single faction existed. He took the capital, a remade New York City, and renamed it to Utopia. His insane projects called for millions of jobs to open, and the impoverished people of the Americas flocked to Utopia. He destroyed New London in a fake accident to encourage immigration to Utopia. The people flourished. Alexander was constantly finding new means of recycling or power to keep up with his ideas. Ideas, ideas! His mind churned them out, but now he had the power to bring them to fruition. Jobs were many, but one opened up in particular: Hosting the Empro. That was all of the information provided by the thousands of flyers put up around Utopia. Thousands of people signed up, and thousands of people were hired. But even then, there were not enough subjects. So Alexander began putting out trucks to kidnap unwary citizens, capture them, and use them against their will. One man noticed, Kiel “ZXY” Rolandier. He noticed people getting into trucks and never returning to their residences. How their houses went up for sale, and they were never mentioned again. No one seemed to remember them, not even the victim’s dearest friends and families. He was always a curious individual, and he one time managed to climb onto the top of one of the trucks. He witnessed the Empro experiments, how they turned the subjects into mindless soldiers capable of following any command without the ability to say no. He logged onto the internet and created a small guild of hackers called the ‘Revolt’. They had the intent of hacking into the Ear network, where the Ear devices were held. They believed that the soldiers were mindless because of tweaks to their Ear device, and thus knew that if they disabled them they could free the people. Things became physical, though, when Kiel was shot fatally in the head. Sniped. The remaining six members of Revolt began recruiting the physical places. They began finding Empro labs and destroying them, freeing any brainwashed people that were there. Through this turmoil, any progress stopped. All of Utopia’s resources were aimed to stopping Revolt and creating Empro labs. As Utopia exploded into civil war, Revolt’s numbers were in the hundreds of thousands. Any recruit that wished to be involved had to be trained in combat and have their nerves disabled so that they felt no pain but could function fine. The other ones who wished to be involved in hacking *(put Utopia in your C/S if you read this)* the Ear network were trained in basic security and infiltration.
