I want to make a Water Temple place from Zelda, but I can't do that without correct flow, rising, and waterfalls and such. One of the parts of the temple is where you have to lower the water levels to open a door.
I can't do that without 10 years scripting experience.

If you read my forum post about making water bricks, it would be much easier because I am a basic scripter and I know how to activate/deactivate cancollide and transparency with scripting.
Give my forum post a read. If you support it and it comes out as an update it will make what you are proposing so much easier.

even if I can SOMEHOW make water delete itself layer by layer, it would be horribly unrealistic.

You wouldnt need to delete itself, If it was a brick you could decrease the size by 0.001 every 0.01 seconds to make it seem like the level is lowering.

Oh the current water is hopeless. It really is. If you want a large layer of it as a baseplate then it takes you ages to put it all in, even using terrain generation/stamper etc. Plus the colour is not rich enough. It seems to pastel blue to be water.

Just give up on ROBLOX's water. It is to bulky, unrealistic, and downright awful. Just use a brick (and I'm pretty sure ALL ROBLOXians wanted the water to be a BRICK).

@meph
even so, it would be horribly unrealistic and take ages to script just the water rising and lowering
