| This is inherently flawed. Some exploits work just by executing completely arbitrary scripts from the client. There's honestly no way you can secure against that. |

I didn't steal "anti dll injector". I have a normal script there. |

Yes, he didn't "steal" the script. He "saw the script, and then wrote it and published it", if my memory of a thread from Scripting Helpers is correct. Unless this is something else? I don't feel like applying the effort of inserting the script and checking it. |

Sometimes exploits do even less than that, packet editing can be a really nice weapon. |

Not everyone exploits by deleting things from the explorer. >_>
In fact, if you have the studio tools, you can just use the execute script thing to execute all the stuff you want.
Most exploits do one of these:
- Allow you to execute scripts. (that includes the plugin exploits and all that stuff) - Allow you to use the toolbox. (through which you can insert a model that contains a script, therefore executing scripts) - Allow you to use the studio tools. (through which you can execute scripts with the command bar or with the execute script window)
If you can execute scripts, then you can do anything. It's not like there's any way to detect it and stop it. It's scripts. You just can't do anything against that.
But ROBLOX's devs can. And that's why you should just leave exploiting to the devs. Because they can actually do something about it for real, unlike you, who can just do some things to make exploiting a little harder. |

"who can just do some things to make exploiting a little harder"
It's worth it...remember IpOFallsFlat? Hedumb. I bet Quenty wouldn't have had his place stolen if he used this game.Selection.Changed() stuff.
I bet 99% of exploiters are total idiots, the 1% being the people who created the software/found the exploits out/wrote the plugins. |

@Julien - While all that is true, the fact remains that some exploiters *do* use the explorer, so at least we're preventing *some* exploits.

@SN0X - Yep, most of them are total idiots. I've asked every single exploiter I've encountered in games to define a few fairly simple memory editing terms, and almost every single one (about 98%) responded with an "Uhhh..." followed by a ban.

Yeah, in games, particularly SFOTH, if I encounter an exploiter I ask them questions and they have no clue what I'm talking about.
Most of them use Person299's admin script and respond with "my friend gave me admin". |

I think SourceLeak does, judging by his reply. |

Well ok. Anyways, If I knew how, I'd target Oysi's camera place so I know how to make ACTUAL cameras. Not the real-time camera, but just a camera thing so you can take pictures. :3

"I bet Quenty wouldn't have had his place stolen if he used this game.Selection.Changed() stuff."
You don't even know what that script does, do you? It just prevents the exploiter from selecting things in the explorer. That has nothing to do with what IpOfFallFlat did. You don't need to select anything to steal a place.
That script doesn't magically prevent exploiting or anything, it just prevents the exploiter from selecting things. In fact, the exploiter can still select things after he got kicked by it unless it crashed his client, so that script is pretty much useless for any exploiter who has a brain.
"While all that is true, the fact remains that some exploiters *do* use the explorer, so at least we're preventing *some* exploits."
Just because they do use the explorer doesn't mean they won't just rejoin and continue exploiting without using the explorer.
"Well ok. Anyways, If I knew how, I'd target Oysi's camera place so I know how to make ACTUAL cameras. Not the real-time camera, but just a camera thing so you can take pictures. :3"
Taking pictures? Easy.
Use Game:GetService('TestService'):DoCommand('Screenshot') to get a screenshot in your image folder.
Then, use some string manipulation with the current time to deduct what the screenshot's name is.
Then, use rbxasset://../../../../../whatever to get to the screenshot and use that as the value for an ImageLabel or Decal's image.
The only problem is that the TestService's DoCommand method is locked. |
