The answer to that is...
Well, actually, it wasn't.
Problem solved. |

Because people like to believe that it was better, so they can feel better.
Heck, even I think it was better, when I know it wasn't. |

Somebody's going to come in saying "There were less noobs back then, there wasn't OBC or BC-only places (cheapskate) and there weren't gear and bodies"
If somebody says that, I'll die of laughter. |

@ROBLOcasno
Wha... How... Is this...
Oh my god, this is absolutely hilarious. There's a pathetically small amount of places that actually use terrain, and really, terrain looks so much better than a bunch of spheres half-CFramed into the ground. |

True, true.
I just don't like how terrain is now the starting map.

@Gabriel @pokita
I'm not being sarcastic, I'm mad that roblox is trying to force terrain/stamper down our throats by removing studio from build mode |

@ROBLO
If you're really the experienced elitist you claim your are, it doesn't matter, because you can easily do things from ROBLOX studio. You'd think people like you would be happy, because now nobody can "cheat" and use the CFrame tool.
Anyway, the stamper is absolutely amazing. Once ROBLOX polishes it and adds more logic features, blocks and furniture, etc. the quality of places will rise dramatically as it won''t take five hours to create a half-decent place. Plus, people can still do revolutionary things with the studio. |

@Gabriel Are you really hating me for expressing an opinion that doesn't have anything to do with you? I think classic building makes places look more neat, and you have so much more possiblities. (And I don't know what you mean by "cheating" with a cframe tool)
It's my opinion. I hate the stamper. Classic building was fun for me. |

ok since this thread is full of ignorant puppies i guess i have to break the stalemate opinionfest.
ROBLOX in 2008 had a medium sized community of around 120K-800K people throughout the year.
in the beginning, the community was small enough to where games weren't sought after for replay value and addiction like most games are today, but rather because they wanted a fun multiplayer experience with their friends that showed off the building aspect that roblox so glamorously portrayed.
friends were loads easier to make back then because the games were small enough for you to meet people recursively, and forge bonds off of that. nowadays, there's so many people on the site I can't keep track of a few friends without me having to do a People search to see if they're playing a game at the given time.
imo there was nothing more fun for me than going to Miked's Fort Wars to meet a lot of my friends at once and play competitively against them. same goes for his Ultimate Paintball place.
there's also the factor that people just like the new experiences they had, and while this is mostly true, other things can contribute to the glory of a particular year.
I don't have many gripes about the updates we've had(expect when john ruined humanoids in 08), but it isn't the content that makes the game for me. it's the fun i can have and the friends I can make, which at the time isn't very much.
hope this speculation sort of helped you all get over your sissy fight |
