Quidditch is a magical sport played by two teams of seven players: three Chasers, two Beaters, one Keeper, and one Seeker. There is a Quaffle, two Bludgers, and a Snitch. The Chasers have to shoot the Quaffle into one of the three hoops, and they will earn 10 points for each shoot. The Beaters have to shoot the Bludgers to opponents on the other team. The Keeper has to defend the goals, and the Seeker has to catch the Snitch, which will end the game, and earn their house 150 points.
PLEASE READ THE RULES, Or at least read how to play what you are trying out for, or you will most likely be declined.
Play of Game
The following details the setup and play of the match; all other important information (such as how to set up a character sheet, role-play information, and the abilities/actions of the players) follows this section of the guide.
Pre-Play Setup
At the beginning of each match, players must submit a completed character sheet, which must include a character name, stats sheet, and broomstick. For example:
Name: Emily Reflexes: 4 Sight: 2 Hand-Eye: 5 Strength: 3 Broomstick: Cleansweep 11
Everyone will start off with a Cleansweep 11, and every week, I will randomize all the players, and one will get a Nimbus 2000. If they already have a Nimbus 2000, they will get a Nimbus 2001. If they already have a Nimbus 2001, they will get a Firebolt. If they already have a Firebolt, they cannot be randomized anymore, because they already have the best broom.
The Play
The play of game is different from Quidditch past. Instead of every player who wishes to play posting in each round, rounds are limited to only three posts per house, per round. Meaning that there will only be a maximum of six posts per round. Rounds will last for a total of 48 hours, but may end early if the four RPs have been posted. The next round will start as soon as the referee posts.
Playing the Match
Once all sheets have been posted, the referee will flip a coin to determine which house has possession of the Quaffle to start the match. Both teams will then have 48 hours to post their RPs. Teams are welcome to use whichever players they wish at any time, however, Seekers must post at least ONCE every 3 rounds. If they do not, a -2 penalty will be deducted from the score of their next post.
Catching the Snitch
The Seeker plays a unique roll in the game of Quidditch in that they are not involved in most of the play of the game. Instead, they fly around the pitch looking for the Golden Snitch. In this version of Quidditch, the Quidditch Pitch is broken up into 7 separate "zones." The Snitch will fly around these various zones throughout the match, however always bordering the one it was in during the previous round. Depending on where the Snitch is at a given time, searching in different zones will either help or hurt the Seeker. However, only the referee will know where the Snitch is at until it is spotted.
Catching the Snitch earns a Seeker 150 points.
Winning the Match
The match ends when one Seeker catches the Golden Snitch. The winner will be determined based on point totals.
If the Seekers do not spot the Snitch within 20 rounds of play, the winner will be determined based solely on the score up to this point. If it is a tie, the winner will be based on the average score of the Seekers' RPs.
Player Stats
Each player will be given 14 points to divide up between 4 different skills. No one skill may have MORE than 5 points or LESS than 1 point. Each skill is applied to different actions. What skills are good for Beaters might not be good for Seekers; however, many of the skills overlap. Chasers, especially, must be multitalented. It is up to you to decide which actions are most important for your character: will you make yourself extremely talented in one area, or spread yourself thin to cover all of the bases? Your strategy may be entirely your own.
Reflexes - How quick are you to respond to situations? Sight - How good are your eyes? Hand-Eye - How's your coordination? Strength - How strong are you?
Broomsticks
The broomstick a player uses is directly proportional to how well they perform on the pitch. The player must own the actual broomstick they are listing.
Firebolt (+10 to all actions, +2 to Reflexes) If a reserve they do not suffer any consequences to their scores if just joining the game. Nimbus 2001 (+9 to all actions, +1 to Reflexes) If a reserve they do not suffer any consequences to their scores if just joining the game. Nimbus 2000 (+8 to all actions) If a reserve they do not suffer any consequences to their scores if just joining the game. Cleansweep 11 (+5 to all actions) If a reserve, they do not suffer any consequences to their scores if just joining the game.
Player Moves
The following are all of the possible moves that a player may make (not including fouls). Included with each move is the calculation the the referee will use when determining the success of a player.
Chaser
Pass Quaffle: A pass must be initiated at least once before any team attempts to score if it is the initial possession. "Initial possessions" are at the start of the match or after the other team scores a goal; the "initial possession" will be randomized between the three chasers. If the Chaser that the Quaffle is being passed to responds before an opposing player makes a move to intercept or prevent the pass, it is assumed caught and that Chaser may now make an attempt on the goal if they so desire. However, if an attempt to intercept is made before the player receiving the pass posts, the success of the pass is determined by who has the highest score based on:
Pass Quaffle: Sight + Hand-Eye + Broom + Dice Roll + RP Intercept Quaffle: Reflexes + Sight + Broom + Dice Roll + RP
*A Chaser may also attempt to intercept a shot on the goal. The same calculation is used to determine its success.
If a Chaser has STOLEN the Quaffle, or if either of the involved Chasers are hit with a Bludger that results in the opposing team catching the loose ball, that Chaser does NOT have to pass it before making an attempt on the goal."
Shoot Quaffle: This is a direct contest between the Chaser and the Keeper, unless an opposing Chaser tries to intercept. The success of the shot is determined by:
Shoot Quaffle: Sight + Hand-Eye + Broom + Dice Roll + RP Catch Quaffle: Reflexes + Hand-Eye + Broom + Dice Roll + RP
*The Chaser shooting the Quaffle must post within the first 12 hours of the round, so as to give the Keeper time to defend the goal.
Tackle Player: A Chaser may try to tackle an opposing Chaser for possession of the Quaffle. The winner of the tackle is decided on by who has the highest score based on:
Tackle Player: Hand-eye + Strength + Broom + Dice Roll + RP Avoid Tackle: Reflexes + Strength + Broom + Dice Roll + RP
Keeper
The Keeper's only function (other than committing fouls) is to defend the goal posts. They may attempt to score from all the way across the pitch, however the likelihood of them scoring is so slim that it is better to simply catch the Quaffle and allow one of your Chasers to take possession. However, if the Keeper does wish to attempt to score a goal, the calculation is as follows:
Shoot Quaffle: Dice Roll + RP Catch Quaffle: Reflexes + Hand-Eye + Broom + Dice Roll + RP
Beater
There are only TWO Bludgers in a game of Quidditch. Each Beater may only deal with ONE Bludger in a given round. This means that one Beater may not deflect one Bludger and then hit another.
Hit Bludger: A Beater may hit a Bludger at any other player; however, attacks on Keepers can only be made after a shot is loosed, but before the Keeper either catches the Quaffle or misses; deflections towards the keeper should happen before 18 hours, otherwise this will be considered a foul. The Beater must specify who they are hitting a Bludger at and must hit a bludger within the first 18 hours of the round, so as to give the opposing team a chance to deflect. Attacking bludgers will carry onto the next round, the action considered "in progress", if it is not ducked or deflected.
Deflect Bludger: A Beater may deflect/redirect a Bludger that is headed for one of their teammates. They may "aim" it at another player while deflecting it, but must specify the player they are redirecting the Bludger towards. There is only one deflect allowed per bludger; meaning you cannot continue to hit the same bludger back and forth to each other. After it is deflected it will be scored as either a success or a failure.
Dodge Bludger: A player may attempt to dodge a Bludger by ducking. If that player is a Beater, they may attempt to deflect the Bludger instead.
Block Bludger: Additionally, a player may attempt to sacrifice themselves and get hit by the Bludger instead of the player it was intended for. The winner is whoever has the highest score out of the following:
Hit Bludger: Strength + Hand-Eye + Broom + Dice Roll + RP Deflect Bludger: Reflexes + Strength + Broom + Dice Roll + RP Dodge Bludger: Reflexes + Sight + Broom + Dice Roll + RP Block Bludger: Sight + Strength + Broom + Dice Roll + RP (Keepers may not attempt this move as they have to stay in between the goal posts)
If a Bludger hit is successful, then the player hit by the Bludger is "injured," losing one skill point at random. Additionally, any action they were attempting to make that round (Catch Snitch, Catch Quaffle, Tackle Chaser, etc.) is interrupted.
Seeker
Spot Snitch: Either Seeker may attempt this at any time in order to locate the Snitch. Whenever they attempt to spot the Snitch, they also much choose a "section" of the Quidditch Pitch to be looking at. This will determine the likelihood that they actually spot the Snitch. If they are looking in the correct "zone" there is a much higher chance of spotting it than if they are looking at the completely wrong end. Success is based on:
Sight + Reflexes + Broom + Dice Roll + RP The Seeker will need at least 35 points to spot the Snitch.
*There is a Snitch advantage for the Seeker who spots the Snitch first accordingly: If the spotter owns a worse broom than the other Seeker: +1 If the spotter owns the same broom as the other Seeker: +2 If the spotter owns a better broom than the other Seeker: +3
Once the Snitch has been spotted, ALL Seekers may attempt to catch it in the immediately following round. If a Seeker fails to post an attempted catch in the next round, it will be assumed that said Seeker is obviously not paying attention and has lost sight of the snitch. The same is applied to a failed snitch catch attempt.
Catch Snitch: A Seeker may only make this move if the Snitch has been spotted. Whether the catch is successful or not is based on:
Reflexes + Sight + Broom + Dice Roll + RP They will need 38+ points to catch the Snitch.
*If both Seekers attempt to catch the Snitch at the same time, the winner will be the Seeker with the higher score.
Wronski Defensive Feint: A Seeker may try to throw off the opposing Seeker by committing this move. Due to the skill required to complete this move, it is not wise to attempt it while riding a sub-par broomstick. Success is determined by:
Reflexes + Hand-Eye + Broom + Dice Roll + RP > 40
The loser of the feint is injured and loses one skill point at random.
Etc.
Any player can play "out of position" (for example: a Seeker shooting the Quaffle) but a -5 penalty will be deducted from their final score since it is not their preferred area of play.
Fouling
There are many fouls in the game of Quidditch which can range from use of elbows against opponent to transfiguring the opposing team's Seeker into a ferret. A foul will always be successful in canceling out the move done by the person who is being fouled. A team may foul only once every two rounds. The success of any foul is determined by a coin toss:
Heads - Foul spotted. Penalty. Tails - Foul not spotted. Damage is caused by the foul and one skill point is lost at random.
*You may not attempt to use any Unforgivable Curses on another player (ie. Avada Kedavra, Crucio, or Imperio).
Penalties
The team awarded the penalty will have one free shot. Whether the shot is successful is determined by the Chaser's stats vs. the opposing Keeper's stats with no role plays.
quote: For example the Chaser's score is based on: Sight + hand eye + broom + dice roll Versus the Keeper's score: Reflexes + hand eye + broom + dice roll
If it is a Chaser who is fouled, that Chaser will automatically be awarded the free shot. If it was another player who was fouled, the ref will chose one Chaser at random to be the player to receive the free shot.
Role-Plays
Role-plays may be no longer than 500 words. Each word over this limit will result in a point being taken away, though the RP score cannot be below 0. The limit is so small because such a large number of role-plays will be posted throughout any one match. Even at 500 words, if 20 RPs are posted, the ref will be required to read 10,000 words about Quidditch over the course of a match; a commitment to read even MORE words than that is not something many users are willing to make in order to be referees.
However, they will need at least 100 words for a roleplay.
God-modding is not acceptable in most RPing. However, in the game of Quidditch, the referee determines whether every action succeeds or fails. Therefore, points will not be deducted for taking control of another user's character. If the action is determined to fail, it will simply be assumed that your character is delusional and those actions never occurred. The reason for this is to allow players more freedom; leaving an RP open-ended is very tedious and detracts heavily from the entertainment value of the RP as a whole. However, you may not control another person's player to an extreme degree. Controlling their speech and actions is against the rules and points will be deducted from your role play. For example, if you feel the need to slap player A, you may assume that it connected however you cannot write about how they reacted to your brutal violence; that is for them to decide.
Due to the amendment of the rounds, players are no longer allowed to anticipate moves. Meaning you cannot post blocking "all potential goals" or hitting a Bludger at "the Chaser in possession." You must specify who you are playing against, otherwise points will deducted from your role play. This also means that a Chaser cannot assume they have possession at the end of a round if they are being tackled or intercepting a Quaffle. (IE - in the same round, you cannot dodge a tackle AND shoot the Quaffle). This applies across the board to actions that interfere.
At the bottom of each role-play, the player must identify the actions that they have taken in either (parentheses) or [brackets]. If the moves are not identified, the referee will assume that your character did not do anything in that round and disregard the post entirely.
Scoring
RPs will be scored out of 15 based on the following criteria:
Grammar (includes spelling) - 4 points. Entertainment - 5 points. Creativity - 3 points. Readability (does it flow, is it overly verbose, do you get lost reading it, etc.) - 3 points.

Match example:
There were celebrations throughout the team as the goal went in. Elia, though, merely retreated to a tactically sound position while yelling at the rest of Ravenclaw Bronze to do the same. One goal was nothing. It would take at least fifteen before they could legitimately celebrate. Still, even Elia had to admit to a small surfeit of pride. All that practice and training had paid off. They'd scored with a move right off the training ground. Though this positive welter of emotion was tempered by the sight of Cat swerving to avoid Conner's Bludger. Elia knew, from personal experience, that that girl was hard to hit with a Bludger, as he himself had tried on a number of occasions in practice. If he was being honest, he'd have much rather hit Cat than scored.
The game restarted, as again the referee tossed the Quaffle into the mix. This time, however, it didn't come in his direction. One of the Fearsome Flyers Chasers snatched it out of the air. Elia couldn't decide whether she looked rattled or riled. Clearly the Fearsome Flyers had been taken aback by the sheer speed and precision that Ravenclaw Bronze had come out of the blocks. Elia wondered if that was a consequence of their names. Such an aggressive, posturing team name, like the Fearsome Flyers, was bound to put the opposition on guard. An entirely more innocuous name though, like Ravenclaw Bronze, may have elicited a degree of complacency. If that was true then they had exploited that complacency to maximum effect. The trick was not to get complacent themselves.
With that in mind he banked hard, away from the Chaser in possession, allowing the girl a clear sight of goal. A young Gryffindor smiled up at him as he flew overheard but Elia only had eyes for the Quaffle. This was another training ground ploy. The goals, for a Chaser, were a powerfully alluring distraction. Happily though, the Chaser was unable to take advantage as she was required by the rules of the game to pass. Elia smiled, though his smile, unlike the Gryffindor's, was calculating and devilish.
He banked hard again, arrowing infield, back towards the Chaser. Whether or not she'd been momentarily distracted he couldn't tell but she hadn't gotten her pass away, which was something. Not being one for subtly, Elia aimed his broom handle at the girl's ribcage. It was amazing how often instinctive self-preservation could get you out of conceding a foul. And, again, there was the element of distraction. If she was thinking about the goals and thinking about possibly broken ribs and even being knocked off her broom, then she wasn't thinking about the Quaffle, or at least not with all her mind.
All Elia's mind was focused on the Quaffle though, and as the opposition Chaser pulled away from him, he lurched forwards, leading with enough elbow to hurt but not quite enough to foul, and made a grab for the precious red ball.
[Tackle Kristen Staufer ][Words=500]
Kristen Staufer was perched on her broom, watching the action unfolding in front of her. The Ravenclaw Bronze team had started out with the Quaffle, and nobody had managed to stop them from scoring. ”Well, it's more like nobody tried,” Kristen thought. ”I mean, nobody was paying attention! No matter, though, because we can turn this game around.” She sighed, waiting while the Ravenclaw Bronze had their little celebratory dance.
After the Quaffle had been tossed up into the air, she quickly snatched it, grabbing it with both hands. She smiled, excited about the prospect of the Fearsome Flyers gaining a goal, and she fingered the leather ball, trying to find a good grip on it. Those few seconds were critical.
Looking around, Kristen saw a Chaser for Ravenclaw Bronze banking away from her. She cocked her eyebrow, wondering why he would let her have an open path to the goalposts. Suddenly, it dawned upon her: he was trying to tempt her! She still had to pass the Quaffle to somebody, and she had to do so now.
Hunting for someone to pass the Quaffle to, she saw the Chaser zooming towards her. ”Where did he come from?!” she asked herself, surprised. He seemed to be aiming to drive his broom handle into her ribs. ”Oh, gosh!” she thought. ”He won't be that lucky, if I can stop him.”
Closing her eyes, Kristen dove towards the ground, her broom gaining speed as she approached the hard earth. A few seconds before she would have hit the ground, she pulled up. Her robes brushed the top of the grassy field as she began a slow ascent. Looking up, she saw the Chaser speeding through thin air. ”Hah,” she thought to herself as she leveled off. ”He should never underestimate the power of an opposing Chaser.”
Kristen looked towards the goals, thinking about making a shot. However, she still had to make a pass. She scanned the pitch, and saw Zepulon wide open. “Hey, Zep!” she called out, her voice bellowing across the Pitch. “Heads up!” With that, she turned around, and threw the ball to Conner, who was also open. [dodge tackle, pass Quaffle to Conner (Conner McRobbie)] [Word Count: 359 words]
Amanda Park had been watching the game like a hawk, paying attention to every detail of the match that unfolded in front of her. She had seen the Ravenclaw Bronze score a goal effortlessly, and couldn't help but let a smile escape on her lips. Soon, though, when Elia yelled at them to return to tactical positions, she did so, and wiped the grin off her face. She was here to hunt for the Golden Snitch, not to smile.
She flew around the Quidditch Pitch, and the fans cheered as she flew overhead. Her eyebrows arched in pleasure, for she really couldn't help but enjoy their praise. She glanced skyward, hoping to find the Snitch among the few clouds, but she had no such luck. It simply was not there.
Sighing, Mandy pulled out near the center of the Pitch, and whipped her head around in every direction, searching for that elusive golden ball. She always had trouble finding it in practice, and the game was no exception. While she was a relatively good Seeker, she still had trouble with finding the wretched thing. She shook her head, realizing that the Snitch wasn't there, either.
Mandy was getting frustrated, but she knew that it was early in the game. She decided to do one sweep of the goalposts, and suddenly caught sight of a glimmer of gold. Quickly speeding towards the gleam of light, she saw what she was looking for: the Golden Snitch. [Snitch Spot, Zone 1] [Word Count: 244 words]
Although Cat narrowly avoided the Bludger, which was sent oh-so generously from Conner Reynolds, it came to Sunnie's uttermost disappointment when Ravenclaw Bronze successfully scored a goal. How could she, Sunnie, let that one slide? It would've been easy to direct a right good Bludger into Dililah Scalzo's knee.
Maneuvering back in position, Sunnie kept ahold of her Beater's bat and swept her scarlet-red bangs out of her face. She awaited for the possession of the lop-sided, leathery Quaffle to be announced and looked for signs of the two Bludgers, conjuring a sneaky little plan ahead of time.
All right, Sunnie thought in her natural pirate accent, By the looks 'o things, it seems that we might have the Quaffle next, but if they get it instead . . . She kept scanning her surroundings. Her green eyes flickered to each side of the Pitch, both her team's and the others, but none of them seemed to be found. "Aye," she said aloud. "If i's a game 'o Hide-'n-Seek ye blunders want, then i's a game 'o Hide-'n-seek ye damned things will get."
Just then, the possession of the Quaffle seemed to be announced rather sooner than usual. Her own team was instead given the opportunity. Sunnie watched as the players of both teams took action and raced around the field. Kristen, Sunnie's teammate, had the Quaffle tucked under her arm and seemed to be handling herself pretty well, but as soon as she seemed to be taking on a lead, Elia Nox, another Ravenclaw Bronze Chaser, made his way towards her. Sunnie immediately saw that he was going to tackle for the Quaffle but she knew that she couldn't let that happen.
The small-framed, yet powerful Beater stepped up her game and willed her broom to blast its way around the field. She was a bit close to the spectator stands; almost every person she zoomed over gave a little gasp with the slight fright of being slashed with her Quidditch robes.
Sunnie kept switching her gaze over the field for even a sliver of black. She was just starting to consider just hitting Nox upside the head with her bat when an object threw itself over her face just an inch away. With a mishievous smirk, Sunnie swerved to follow the Bludger. Whilst doing so, she looked over her shoulder occasionally to see how close Nox was getting to Kristen, who didn't seem to notice what was coming for her. Sunnie turned back and cooed to the Bludger ("C'mon, you li'l quodpot, we've got a game to win!") and held her bat as tightly as ever. It came to her sweet delight that the Bludger was just at arm's length. With a hearty laugh, Sunnie outstretched her bat and took aim to Nox.
CRACK!
It was like it was sent by a giant's swing of its arm. The Bludger line-drove to Nox in a speed almost equal to a lightning bolt's.
[Hit Bludger to Elia Nox] Word Count: 500
After his nifty swing, Connor hastily glided back up to his position above the pitch: bobbing up and down and analyzing the manerisms of the other team. It helped to know how your opponent acts and reacts in a game of Quidditch. His gaze shifted back to the barely-visible iron ball, whizzing towards the opposite team's seeker. To his anger, she dodged. Though he hated to admit it, he was a sore loser. If his attack was dodged or blocked, it irritated him. He expected every attack to hit his target, but unfortunately, that wasn't always the case. From his lurking position he streched, surveying the pitch anxiously, trying to catch the movement of every player.
It was only now he noticed one of the opposite teams Beater's. She was small - too small to be a beater, but there she sat, bat in hand. He watched her carefully. Judging by her movements she was going to do some beating, and his suspicion was confirmed when by fluke, she managed to smack the Bludger having had it pass mere inches from her face. He followed the ball slowly, noticing the target was Elia. His hands wrapped around the handle of the broom. His palms had become sweaty, making it difficult to grip his bat and broom properly, but it was nothing he couldn't managehe leant forwards, and his Cleansweep oblidged, dragging him into a sudden dive.
His body violently jerked on the broom as the wind whipped about him, but he made for his target regardless. He was nearlly knocked clean of his broom as Kristen shot above him, almost clipping his head with her boot. Despite the near hazards, he trooped on, grasping tight hold of his bat now. He shot around Elia, swinging his bad forcefully into the Bludger, mere metres away from him. The crack rung throughout the pitch. The Bludger, narrowly deflected, shot towards the Fearsome Flyer's Seeker again.
[Deflect Bludger towards Cat] [Word Count: 324]
Cat sighed. It had only been a glimmer from someone's wand. She looked at Sunnie, one of the beaters on her team. She looked pleased with Cat, and Cat caught her eye happily. SMACK! She had tried to hit a bludger at Elia. Her eyes darted to the score board. 10-0. "I can't let Ravenclaw Bronze win..." mumbled Cat, eyes glistening. "Oh, no, I won't let that happen." she added, a nasty grin spreading across her face.
She was just about to cast Rictusempra on Amanda, when her broom started cracking! "Oh god." Cat thought with a groan. "I swear, brooms just hate me. First the one in practice session and now in a match!" she sighed. To make things worse, Connor looked at Cat gleefully, as if to say, "I'm going to get you now!" Cat whimpered. She didn't seem as brave as she really thought she was.
She retrieved her wand. "Reparo reparo reparo! Aw, come on! Reparo! Reparo!" she shrieked, waving her wand with every word. If someone was watching her, she'd probably look quite demented. It was no use. Her broom stayed put. The Cleansweep wanted her off, and most likely, it WOULD get her off. She was now dangling from her broom, with only her hands holding onto her broom, the rest of her body off it, like a puppet with no strings.
Suddenly, someone cast a spell on her broom. She expected it to be someone fouling her, but infact her broom now looked almost brand new! "Thanks." she said happily, swinging back onto her broom. As the bludger came, she managed to dodge it just in time.
She had completely forgotten about trying to foul Elia, she just wanted to get out of the game alive. She saw a strand of hair in her eyes, and pushed it back when - clunk. Her metal watch seemed to meet the snitch! Chuckling to herself, Cat got her hand out ready to catch it.

1st Position: Seeker
2nd Position: Beater
Matt Was watching the game go by, also trying to keep an eye out for the golden snitch. Minutes later the snitch wizzed past Matt, he went for a swipe but missed. He decided to chase the snitch. As he was chasing the snitch the whole gryffindor house that were watching were going crazy. Matt chased the snitch all over the grounds around the scoring hoops and down under the stands. As the snitch was avoiding the wood barriers so were Matt as the bridge was coming up he swurved upwards. But he lost sight of the snitch lucky for him it was sunny and it was not long until he found the snitch becuase of the reflection of the light bouncing of the golden layer.
The score was 50 to 70 the lead wasa going to Ravenclaw matt needed to catch that snitch. The Snitch was heading high in the sky, almost high enough for no one to see where Matt or the snitch were when matt was close enough to the snitch he reached for it with his hand...He caught it by the wing! the snitch was struggling then finally gave in. Harry flew back down with the snitch down to the soft wet grass and did an enourmous fist pump. Gryffindor won with 200 points to 70. All the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw team came down to congratulate him. When they finished packing up the whole gryffindor team even Matt Riverstone went back to the Gryffindor Common Room and celebrated by eating Burty Bots Every Flavoured Beans while sitting next to the fire. That was one of the best days for Matt Riverstone. |

Looks like Matt only saw a reflection of something. Perhaps a watch or some glitter?
By the way, you have to do where Matt sees the Snitch, and then I grade that one, after that round, you have to try and catch it. Not where you see it AND catch it in one round. :)
Corrected: Matt Was watching the game go by, while keeping his eye out for the precious golden Snitch. Minutes later, the Snitch whizzed past Matt. He went for a swipe, but unfortunately, he missed. He gripped onto his Cleansweep hard, and steered it quickly to the Snitch, the wind roaring in his ears. As he was chasing the snitch, he heard his fellow housemates in Gryffindor cheering him on. Grinning, Matt raced further to the Snitch, and flew under the stands. As the snitch was avoiding the wood barriers, so was Matt. As the wooden bridge was coming up he darted upwards, sighing. He had lost sight of the Snitch...
The score was 50 to 70, and Ravenclaw were winning. Matt desperately clung onto his Cleansweep. He needed to catch the Snitch. Matt saw a glint of gold up high in the sky, and dashed towards it...

This is SlashSeeker's tryout that she messaged me:
Roleplay name: Emily (Remember, you have 14 points to divide between the four skills, you must have 1-5 points for each one.) Reflexes: 4 Sight: 5 Hand-Eye: 3 Strength: 2 Position wanted: Seeker (I'm in Slytherin by the way) Second position wanted (if you don't make the first one): Chaser (Each team will need one reserve) Willing to be a reserve?: Yes Example roleplay (Remember, 100-500 words, you have to roleplay as if in a match and you're playing for the position you want, must have good grammar, spelling. etc.):
Emily walked out onto the pitch, gripping her brand new Cleansweep 11. She mounted onto her Broom, and waited for the whistle to blow. "Three, two, one-" Madam Hooch said, and a whistle echoed around the Pitch. Emily kicked off, and flew up high so she could keep track of the match. She watched it like a hawk, while looking for the golden Snitch. She noticed her broom drifting away, so she held it firmly.
Taking a deep breath, she zoomed to the centre of the match, her emerald robe flying just behind her like a cape. The Quaffle shot left to right, Beaters' Bats clashed against the pesky Bludgers, and the Bludgers flew off to harass players.
Emily scanned the pitch with her hazel eyes. At this rate, she'd never see the Snitch. "I can do this..." she whispered to herself, trying to get her spirits up. She heard a cracking. Maybe someone's broom was breaking? But she heard it much closer than that. It couldn't be. Praying it wasn't hers, she looked down at her Broom, laughing nervously. That was the awkward thing about Emily. When she was nervous, she started giggling or laughing. Quite bad really, because once she had been watching entertainment, she had been called up, and she had to stand on someone while they had their face in glass. Ouch. But, no, instead of looking worridly at him, she had begun laughing horrendously, and had nearly been sent out.
However, this was no time for flashbacks. Emily's Broom was now bucking her off, like a crazy horse. "Oh God." she murmured. "This is it, I'm done for!" Then, she remembered one of her recent charms classes. She grabbed her wand, and yelled, "Reparo!" She looked down at her Cleansweep, and to her relief, it was looking better than ever. She climbed back onto it shakily, and returned to hunting for the Snitch. Hang on, what was that? Emily's heart skipped a beat. Over there, a glint of light! Emily couldn't believe her luck; she raced towards it, the wind roaring in her ears.
[Spot Snitch in zone 4]
Grading: Grammar - 3/4 Entertainment - 5/5 Creativity - 3/3 Readability - 2/3 Total = 13
Spot Snitch: Sight + Reflexes + Broom + Dice Roll + RP: 5+4+5+13+9=36
Emily has spotted the Snitch! Welcome to the team. You are the Slytherin Seeker! |

Roleplay name: Mark House is Gryffindor Reflexes: 4 Sight: 4 Hand-Eye: 4 Strength:4 Position wanted: Keeper Second position wanted: Seeker Third postition: Beater Fourth position: Chaser Willing to be a reserve?: No I was just flying to the goal posts when madam hooch blew her whistle. BBBBBBRING! The other team got the quaffle. Chaser passed to chaser. The best chaser shotand almost scored but my broom jerked up and blocked the quaffle from scoring. I threw it to the chaser on the my team. They tried to shoot but they they got hit by the bludger instead. The other keeper got the quaffle and tried to shoot from there but i caught it easily. Then out of no where, a bludger came at me! It was going for my head but i did some quick thinking and bycle kicked it at the other keeper who got knocked out. It felt like my leg was on fire, but i kept on going. The beater that made my toe be on fire tryed it again but before he could i punched him off his broom. It was a foul. The chaser took the shot, but i easily blocked it with my head. I heard the seeker on the other team scream "SNITCH!!!!" and that's when i knew the game was going to start. Our chaser scored. The other chaser tried to but didn't. Then the craziest thing happend. A Gryffindor jumped out of the bleachers to try and catch the snitch but he didn't catch it. He was falling. I knew what i had to do. i flew under him and cought him. He was heavy, but that didn't bother me because i was saving someones life. I heard the other team scored. I got the Gryffindor back up to the bleachers and amazingly stopped the next goal by karate kicking it. I saw our teams seeker hold the snitch in his hand. We had one the game. I was so happy when my friends run on the field cheering "MARK MARK MARK" |
