There are several things to consider when shooting a bow.
OFFENSE 1- Arrow drop; gravity pulls arrows to the ground
2- Movement; Your opponents aren't going to be standing still. Make sure you aim where you think they'll be
3- Height; If you or your opponent are at different heights, you need to work that out too.
4- Time; Long distance arrows will take more time to reach targets than close range. So aim long range arrows farther in front of them.
5- Don't jump around constantly. It makes you look like a fool and you won't hit anything.
DEFENSE 1- When reloading, jump once. This makes it slightly harder for opponents to hit you.
2- If fighting a javelin, keep your range and height. Javelins have a shorter range and will go down hills. Use this to your advantage.
3- Keep your range. The arrows don't do damage at very close ranges.
TACTICS 1- Volley. This is where several archers fire their arrows at one person. Combined, this can take down raiders instantly.
2- Squads; A two person squad is usually good for archers. You can take down a raider instantly, and not take up the entire team.
3- Sword draw; If an enemy gets close, draw your sword. If you hit them with the bow, you already have a health advantage
TIPS 1- A good archer needs to learn to predict how their opponent will move. Learn your opponent. Do they go side to side, do they jump? Work these things into your predictions.
2- They also need to aim away from their opponents weapon. A weapon will block incoming arrows. Leg shots are good spots to hit, as no weapons are typically there.
3- The most important tip is PRACTICE! Grab a friend and bow duel! If you continue practicing, eventually you'll become a master archer. |
