Guns run out of ammo, I actually have taken sword fighting classes for the past few years because that's how my ancestors, the Templar Knights fought mostly. I know quite a lot on swords and sword fights.
Here are the basics if anyone is interested:
Parts of a Sword:
Blade- the length of steel that may have one or more sharp edges. Hilt- "handle" of the sword, including everything that isn't the blade. Grip- the part of the sword designed for the hand. Quillions- the T-shaped crossbar just above the blade that protects the hand during a parry. Knuckle Guard- A piece of metal that curves from the quillions to the end of the hilt. Tang- The part of the blade that fits inside the hilt. Pommel- round knob at the end of a sword hilt. Basket Hilt- a kind of guard designed to encircle the entire hand.
Some (not all) types of swords:
Broadsword Dagger Falchion Great Sword Rapier Smallsword
You can contact me for more information on the subject and I can help you become a worthy swordsman.

| Yes, but then you reload your gun and shoot the heads off those men waving swords around without getting your weapon dirty |

@Boe >Unwieldy hunk of steel
Many swords were designed to be light so emphasis could be put on speed and skill. Also swordsmen were trained to be fast and light to evade an archer's arrows, so that includes bullets. |

@Thereal I said those weren't all the swords, just some, OT doesn't have the attention span to read a full list. |

@Boe You underestimate the skill level swordsmen were trained with, they were at the peak physical and skill level possible. |
