§~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ This is not a complete history, only the stuff I figured would be interesting to members, if you want more on medieval history, the Dark Ages, or anything related to said subjects, join my group. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ This guide is written to explain and tell everything about The Saxon Kingdom's history that was unexplained in the group description. This group is based off of a group of tribes that were first Germanic peoples called Saxons. They were also known as Anglo-Saxons. They were vikings and barbarians that invaded Britain. Soon after they established a kingdom. The West Saxon Kingdom (Of which I base my group upon, established by Cirdic, first king of the West Saxon Kingdom Angles.), The East Saxon Kingdom, The Southern Saxon Kingdom, and The Northern Saxon Kingdom. Each had a specific name, unfortunately I can't name some of them because they will get content deleted due to the fact that they have part of what will be perceived by roblox's auto moderators as a swear word. Vortigern established and conquered the first part of The Saxon Kingdom. Eventually though, after many long battles making the Saxons seem unstoppable until the battle of AMons Badonicus, the legendary King Arthur, who historians think was Ambrosius Aurelianus, defeated Vortigern, 500A.D. There are many more stories and legends based off the Saxons, but if you want more, join the group. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ The ranks and rank meanings/descriptions are as follows. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ Rank 1: The Fyrdmen, The Fyrdmen were part of a Saxon militia known as, The Fyrd. These were lightly armored warriors with little experience in combat. The ages of the warriors within this group could be from 15-60. They were often Ceorls (Peasants) and were armored very lightly, and if they were of noble birth, sometimes could afford to buy better equipment. Sometimes there were to classes of fyrd the greater fyrd, consisting of nobles, and the lower, since the fyrd mainly consisted of the lower, this is the first rank. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ Rank 2: The Geoguth, Young warriors armed with a shield, spear, and seax (a short sword). Few would have had armor. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ Rank 3: The Gedhrit, Warriors equivelent to a knight, sworn to die for a noble. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ Rank 4: The Hurscarl, Household guard to nobles, and elite warriors. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ Rank 5: Thegn, Direct land holders of the king, they owned land appointed to their safe keeping by the king, and had a small garrison of troops at their command. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ Rank 6: Earl, A low class of noble. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ Rank 7: Ealdorman, High ranking military officials and upper class nobles. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ Rank 8: Aethling, Direct Heirs to the throne. High military power and extreme authority. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ Rank 9: Cirdic, leader of The West Saxon Kingdom. §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ The Saxon Kingdom, Join today: http://www.roblox.com/My/Groups.aspx?gid=576139 §~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~§ |

| If you really want somthing interesting, read the Dragon and the Raven, to get a good view on some of the old-time strategies, and get a good view on just how bad off the Saxons were while repelling various attacks from what we know as Vikings. |
