On the subject of "La Brea Bakery Half Baguettes"...

Now, when I bought myself a packet of this product, I was tentative, and I think I had a bit of a right to be so. Normally, the bread that I use, if ever, is "Wonderbread". I like "Wonderbread" because it provides clear instructions on how to properly toast the bread, some handy tips on taking it out of the toaster without getting unpleasant burns, and even something else, precise instructions on how to make a "PB & J" sandwich. I go out of my way to get "Wonderbread" for this reason, as you simply don't see this quality and user friendliness around anymore. However, today I was feeling mighty adventurous, so I went out and bought the "Half Baguettes", seeing as it had a description which made my mouth water and gave me a sense that this bread was going to have the most taste of any I've ever eaten.

So, I went out and got it, and let me say, the packaging was rather...annoying. Now, I'm not the smartest man out there, but would it not be lolgical to have packaging which held each roll of bread together tight enough to not have to fiddle with it? If we can make a toilet that heats my bum (Which I may review later) why can't we make proper packaging? I got home however, and carefully read the instructions to making what it describes as "A delicious sandwich". I followed the instructions as followed, but was immediately confused by them. It told me to "Open" the bread. How am I supposed to open hard bread? Is there a door somewhere? After minutes of searching, I decided to research this online. Apparently, I was supposed to slice it and then lay the bread down so that the cut part was facing upwards. Now, how am I supposed to know ALL of that by the instruction "Open" your bread!? A bit discouraged, but with mouth watering, I took out my ingredients. It told me to place my tomatoes and my mozzarella along with olive oil, but did not tell me the order. In the end, I settled for going with my gut instinct and putting the olive oil in first, and then the mozzarella, and put the tomatoes on top of that. (An additional problem I found was that it did not tell me HOW to place the mozzarella, so I assumed I just placed the entire cheese at once.) After that, it told me to place basil onto it, and voila! But I could not reach the first bite, because it didn't tell me how MUCH basil to put in! In the end, I was rather hungry, so I went with instinct and put the entire packet in.

After all of this trouble, my sandwich was finally done, and it was disgusting beyond belief. The bottom piece of bread was SOAKED with olive oil, and too soggy and mushy to hold. The actual bread fell apart in my hands. (Unfortunately, it did not have instructions on how to eat it, either!) The cheese was too much and blocked out all over flavors, and I could barely taste anything but it. The top bread was too hard, and I nearly chipped my delicate teeth biting into it. Also, the calories in this whole thing while they looked little, were a great deal! After eating that and weighing myself, I found out that I weighed half a pound more then before!

In the end, I do not recommend, by any means, trying this product. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE DESCRIPTION, TAKE MY ADVICE! :)

On the subject of "Pop-Secret Jumbo Popping Corn"...

The instructions on “Pop-Secret Jumbo Popping Corn” although rather short and simple, could have been much clearer and worded differently. The instructions were somewhat dangerous at times, and resulted in me burning my hand, getting sprayed by hot oil, and spilling kernels all over the floor. This was partially because of the first thing it said, namely to put two or three kernels in the pan. The first one popped, and when it did, I followed the instructions that were specified and poured the remaining kernels into the pan. Unfortunately, when this happened, a kernel that was already in there popped, causing the hot oil to move vigorously, spraying me. When it sprayed me, I recoiled in pain and popcorn kernels spilled all over my kitchen whilst I was putting them into the pan. This caused the pan to be completely open while the corn was popping, scalding me once again before I had a chance to close it.

One of the other instructions, leave the pan slightly open confused me, because of the next thing it said: shake the pan. Was I supposed to shake the pan while the lid was open? Wouldn't I get burnt if I did that? I ended up closing the lid before shaking it, though the amount of time I spent wondering about this caused my popcorn to be burnt, and it also didn't specify the time when I should shake the pan. In the end, because of these unclear instructions, the corn ended up spilled all over my kitchen, completely burnt, and I ended up scalded by the popcorn twice. I wish they had provided images of someone doing what was specified, or more specific instructions. I would not make anything else from this ever again, for fear of getting scalded again at the fault of non-specific instructions.
