Security Free Stability Update everything with single click Safe repositories full of everything you'd ever need and more (So no browsing the web for potentially dangerous programs because Linux uses repositories approved by the devs, so even if it got popular and people started making lots of viruses for Linux, it'd still be safe because 1) The security is just that good, and 2) repositories) 3D Desktops & Desktop Effects without losing speed or paying money Better support & better communities Multiple workspaces/Desktops Almost instant bug-fix updates on Linux, as opposed to having to wait for bug fixes from Microsoft that come out very slowly Speed Customization (Even if you don't know code you can change desktop environments, add Awn/Cairo-Dock, etc.) etc.

Free, Open-Source, It comes with free software, Virus Protection. (some of you here need it.) You can set a video as the background.. (these are only for some brands of Linux)

@James
>Implying that being Opensource is a bad thing
>Implying that Windows can't also be used for hacking.
Also, Linux is faster than Windows (Especially for internet)
A lot of major programs have Linux support, and if they don't, you can run them in WINE
Distros is a cool word
Linux distros don't have "tech support" really, but their communities will help you. They'll help you solve any problem in minutes.
If you're switching from Mac or Windows, then Ubuntu or Mint would be great for you
I play TF2 in Linux and I also play Minecraft, Terraria, and Garry's Mod. Half-Life games also run in WINE.
Microsoft sucks
Yes, there is Flash Player for Linux

| But your graphics will explode like a Ford Pinto because you can't use DirectX. You need to use OpenGL. |

Open Source [MEANING YOU CAN EDIT IT TO MAKE IT HOWEVER YOU WANT.] No Support For Proprietary Drivers [No, you can put in several if you want, it's just your computer that won't let you.] Hacking [no..?] Bad Internet Speed [Nope.. Still, only your router.] No Support For Major Programs. [over 100 forums if one sucks] Poor Usability On Some Distros [Get a different one.] Use Of The Word Distros [god, idiot] You Have To Learn An Entire Vocabulary [dahell? You don't already have Vocabulary? If you already had one, you wouldn't need to learn it/] Tech Support Won't Help You [Have you even USED THIS?] Too Far Of A Bound From Windows Or Mac [There are set ups to make it more like Blah or Blah, Apple sucks, anyway. You Have To Play Linux Games ["have to play linux games" "have to play" "have to" "have" WTF!?] Microsoft Sam Hates It [SO? IT'S BECAUSE IT'S MORE SUCCESSFUL..] No DirectX [then download it] No Flash Player [No computer starts out with it, plus, idiot, I'm sure you're used to it with your idiotic apple products] OpenGL [dahell is this?] |

@Hana
If you don't know Linux (Obviously you don't very well), then don't talk about it like you are
@James
You don't need DirectX. OpenGL works fine. |

@Hana123
The only Apple Product I had was a iPod Touch 4G.
Anyway, OpenGL is a "open source" graphics system. |

My entire Steam library can run with WINE. |

Opensource is good, not bad. What makes you think that it's bad?
@Jul
No. Way less bugs than Windows, for the most part. |

@Han
Actually I'm running a multi-boot between Fedora, Mandriva, and Backtrack.
While I'm no fan of Ubuntu, it is a rather nice distro for new Linux people
@James
Like I said, I play Garry's Mod on Linux all the time. |

Nothing good comes out of open source.
Everything good is either freeware or proprietary. |

Oh my god.
You're so wrong.
When something is opensource it gives you the freedom to customize it to your needs, it lets you contribute to improving the software for everybody, it helps to fix bugs and other issues in the coding, etc. |

This is why people make software freeware nowadays. |

What?
What does freeware have to do with opensource software? |
