| Nothing to explain, people get sent to death row everyday, so are you with it or against it. |

| Death penalty shouldn't exist, there's a chance the person was innocent. Life without parole should be the max sentence. |

| Ryplayer, research Timothy Evans, I think you'll be interested in the what it shows about the death penalty. |

Life in prison is a cheaper sentence than the death penalty in terms of its cost to taxpayers.
Therefore, I support life in prison instead of capital punishment.
Yippee. |

| If death penalty's for a known criminal who repeatedly commits serious crimes, like bin Laden, I think it's ok. Otherwise, we should not have the death penalty. |

| If its about punishment, its way more humane to let the person have eternal rest than live in the horrid prison system we have the US. |

| Regardless of how severe the crime, or whether or not there's a chance that they're innocent, death is never the answer. The death penalty should be abolished, with no exceptions. One of my more controversial ideas, I don't believe that even high-profile terrorists or serial killers ever deserve death. Nothing really to explain here. |

No one deserves death..
Is that the final decision? |

| The state does it therefore crime. The death penalty itself, justice. Also if you get Life in Jail, your life is already ruined, even if you do get out. Also the cost argument, they are also including the 10-20 year living expenses it takes to execute a criminal and all the appeals. |

It's funny, because a lot of the people on these threads act like death sentences are handed out like candy.
If you think that a serial killer will some how find redemption or rehabilitation locked up in a cell for 20 years, you obviously don't understand just how flawed the prison system is.
The death sentence was created to make sure criminals who committed horrible atrocities could never do so again. |

Timothy Evans was an innocent man sent to death row, they found out he was innocent 16 years later...
No turning back after the execution, he's gone. |

| And you honestly believe after getting acquitted of a murder in life in prison you can still be here? You are lucky to get a job at all let alone a decent one or live like before. |

| I'm sure it would've worked out a lot better if we just spent millions on letting serial killers live in prisons. |

| Execution should only be used for high Treason. That's how it is in NZ. We just do life with/o parole. |
