This is an idea about the way ROBLOX works. It could change the way that it functions and make the community alot better. So, please read it and ask me questions if you have any.
Well, as you can see by the many post here on S&I, the community seems to be getting worse. Well, why is this happening, you might ask. I believe I know the answer. I've done research and noticed that MOST ROBLOXians that play games on the front page are 9-12. Now, you might be older, so don't ask your friends, because odds are they are older too. (Similiar age groups get along.) So, you may also notice that most younger members can't build (I did say most). So, why are they here? Because, ROBLOX is advertised as a KID'S WEBSITE. Now, I know it's a kid's website. I joined it when I was younger, but I'm older now and it's very appealing to kids. I am older and still like ROBLOX, because it helps me release my imagination. So, I wondered to myself why ROBLOX is advertised as a kid's building website, when most kids cannot build or script. If ROBLOX is advertised as a building game for kids, why do they make it difficult to learn?
So, here's my suggestion. I suggest that ROBLOX should lessen the Kiddy appeal of itself. Where it's still attractive to kids and teens. I also think it should NOT be advertised as a Kid's building game, but just an "Interactive Building Game". See, it could help alot with these kids that think it's fun to troll and annoy forumers, too. We would have a more mature community, which as we all know, is the biggest issue ROBLOX faces.
Thank you for reading. I'd appreciate any feedback on why you like or dislike this idea. I'd also like any questions or concerns. |

| I give my consent to this idea. The devs need to realize that if they want ROBLOX to grow in the 13-17 audience (Which they made clear at Roblox Rally 2011) they need to advertise in a way that would appeal more to this audience. |

| Exactly. Did they believe the terrain would help out with that and the new tools? I just realized that they did that after the rally, didn't they? |

Yes.
But a correction.
"So, you may also notice that most younger members can't build (I did say most)."
Correction:
So, you may also notice that most younger members can't WELL build (I did say most).

| @Kill I said ROBLOX should be attractive to kids AND teens. Also, teens have jobs and are willing to pay $5 a month. As for, kids can be shy or scared to ask their parents. For example, MC has alot of teens who play it and pay. |

More people = more money
Adults tend to buy memberships more, because they have their own money.

Anyway, I don't usually do this but I might as well for the sake of it. The reason Minecraft is a success? There's a decent community. Of 13-20. I just wanted to point this out. Supported. |

| I agree with the kids and teens part, but the minecraft argument is irrelevant. |

| Now think of a way to appeal to both age groups. Appeal first to kids about playing, customizing, socializing for free! then appeal to older with imagination blah architecture blah physics programming blah blah? |

| Kids are more intrested in the social-gaming aspects of ROBLOX. Teens are more intrested in the forums, building, script, etc. As you have seen by ROBLOX ads they mention that you have lots of games you can play. Now, I have no problem with that, but they seem to mention that and the fact you can customize your character WAY TOO MUCH. It'd be nice if they also focused more on foruming, building, and scripting. I'm not saying they should delete the gaming and customizing from the ads all together, but they focus too much on it. I'm in an architecture class right now (Well, I just got out for summer) but, this could have been a huge help to some of the others in my class. They longed to build something different in that class. Something they couldn't in real life, but they had no clue about ROBLOX. They had seen ads for it, but they said that they thought it was just for little kids. They'd be more than willing to pay for places and everything like that, too. |

@Paramore2,
Why don't you just get your friends to play it...? I could see the problem of it being embarrassing, and them thinking, "Oh, you play a kid game!" but I bet they'd come around. |

| @Frost I don't mean for just kids in my class. I'm talking about everyone. I just used my class as an example. |

| I support, even though I am in the younger age group I am mature enough to notice that this game is not just for games and customizing. I don't actually play games on the front page much because they are most likely bad. |

What if this website is taken over by teenagers, though? They would troll the younger ones. That wouldn't be good.
Chances are I will not support, but this was a good idea. |
