| Umskiptar better than Filosofem? Don't be dumb. From what I've listened to, Belus is probably his last grasp of greatness, but from an artist that's been releasing an album a year, what's to expect? |

| In many ways I find his new stuff to be the logical continuation of the transcendental, naturalist perspective Varg was developing since the first album; if old Burzum had the feeling of a leper peering fearfully into the light, his newer albums are simply stepping outside and realizing it's not as dramatic as you thought. Maybe that's why it's disappointed a lot of people; it's clearly the work of someone who left his angst and persecution complex behind. And yeah, in many ways that's a little less exciting. |
