| Geometry (trigonometry, vectors, and matrices) and algebra are the maths skills most programmers need. In the real world, you need to understand the maths of the system you're writing the software for. |

In the real world most programmers don't have to know that much geometry (or more accurately, linear algebra. I wouldn't call most of what you use in programs geometry).
Sure if you're writing game code or physics, or trying to simulate things, then you probably need that sort of math knowledge, but most programmers aren't doing that sort of thing. Most programmers are writing user interface code or messing with databases and doing modeling. |
