Wha? AUDIENCE. What are you do— Ah never mind. Never fashion intros after YouTube blurbs. Heh heh. ANYWAY! I recently had a stroke of genius come to me in a vision. I had just been hit on the head and was hallucinating. (not really)
The idea here is Roblox companies.
How will they work?
The way I see it, they will be set up very similarly to groups. Ranks, joining, people in charge, admins, etc. Users can request to join (honestly, who lets someone join a company without any consent) said company. The owner sets up different positions in the company. People are promoted to those positions, etc.
The difference from groups is this:
These companies can sell items, be it shirts, pants, tshirts, models, decals, etc. Buyers are directed to the companies product lost where they can purchase their goods. The company then receives the cash. The owner of the company sets salaries for everyone that can be percentages of the sales from that company, or percentages of the sales of the products they contributed to. After everyone is paid, the owner receives what is left over. (I would hope there wouldn't be a useless roblox fee)
Of course, you may be thinking, "what's stopping people from buying an item then reselling it?"
For t-shirts and decals, the main issue is people copying it for the website. If roblox figured out a way to place an invisible object over the picture, then that would solve the copy issue.
Since practically everything can be copied through studio, all items sold through companies will be classified as a different type of item that cannot be edited in Studio. (Lock symbol?)
The potential benefits are as follows:
-More incentives for creativity -More ways to earn money for EVERYONE. (since anyone can join the company) -Brand new economy that functions like real life -Potential learning opportunity

Nice, but...
That would be easily exploited if you have monies.
Step 1: Get a few BC acccounts. Step 2: All join the company with all sorts of good records n stuff. Step 3: When you get a sale or something, give ALL of the monies to one acc. Step 4: Multiplied cash.
Of course, this could be prevented if you had not enough cash, or were not accepted, but for people who are... Not as intelligent as a regular human being, that would basically be a super-scam. |

Cons:
The making of clothing is meant to be individual. It allows people that are good in designing things to earn a lot of money, and those who cannot design as well to not earn as much money.
These companies might just intermix poor designers and good designers. The salaries will only be divided to everyone equally, not depending on how often they make things, how good those things are, or how long they work on them. There will be some people doing all the work only to get 1/16 of what they could of gotten individually.
Even worse, the owner could also choose to exploit this very flaw - giving the employees tiny salaries and himself and his friends lots of money, while him and his friends not doing anything themselves.
It's just a way to make rich people richer, really. OBCers with thousands of ROBUX can "buy off" good designers and make loads of money with their good designers, while having done absolutely nothing themselves.
To sum it up, it just sounds like a way to divide good designers' money among people who barely make anything good.
Pros:
If there is a responsible, fair owner, he will make sure that good workers get higher salaries, and irresponsible workers get less money. To make this easier for him, there could be a system that allows the owner to check how much money he's getting from each person/department, and also check how many things these employees have made, and how good they are. He could then divide the people accordingly into the proper ranks, giving less money to the lower ranks and more money to the higher ranks.
Companies can also set limits - like, only people that can design good clothes, only people who can make good decals, etc. and earn reputation as a good company. Products from good companies will be bought more often.
The cons, in my opinion, outweigh the pros, unfortunately.

Support, loving this idea, and @recruit, if anyone is slacking off, there is always the possibility of being demoted, thus an end to their income. That or just plain exiled.
ROBLOX should certainly take this idea into mind, hopefully it gets enough replies to stay to the top, and the ROBLOX team sees it!

That is always a risk. However, my hope is that either Roblox inputs enough safe-guards to prevent that, or employees use common sense.

Just for you, I'll think of a solution. :3
In order for the company to be fair for everyone, information of everyone's doings and earnings should be displayed for everyone else to see. This way, if a good designer sees he's earning 1 ROBUX a week, and the owner of the group 1000 ROBUX a week from his products, he can decide to withdraw.
To prevent people from becoming uber rich in the small amount of time between the good designer joining and then becoming suspicious and leaving again, which could be a week, make it so the salaries are also automatically divided based on how many things the individual has sold in total.
I gtg now, midway through my flaw-fixer D: But this counts as a bump anyway, and I'll be back later. |

Continuation of my flaw-fixah':
How about a system that allows people to rate a company's fairness?
Yes, there are biased people all over ROBLOX, but it would give a general idea as to which company to pick. You can only rate once per IP, and you can only rate once you've been in the group for one month. |
