This is my story on how I ended up at TGI. WARNING: Long post. If you don't want to hear the tragic, dangerous story of how I ended up in TGI, please exit this forum, and never look back.
===============Chapter 2 Judgement===============
I woke to the sound of an engine humming. Has VAK come to take me back? I thought. I opened my eyes and saw the vehicle's color. It was gray and black, with a man on top of a gunner's post and another man driving. This was no VAK vehicle. I groaned, and stood up. As I got my bearings together, I saw I was in a transportation humvee. It had no roof, and seats were in front and on the left and right of me. As I looked up, I saw towering gray walls pass by as we drove. "Excuse me, who are you?" I asked the man on the gunner. "None of your concern right now," he said. "Well," I said, "Where am I?" This time, the man on the gunner's position looked at me and said, "Welcome to The Grand Imperium Stronghold boy." The Grand Imperium! I thought, I had made it after all! We stopped outside the entrance to the fortress, and a soldier walked toward us. He looked at me, then at the guard who was driving. "Who is this?" he said. "He comes from the Vaktovian Army Corps sir," and showed the man my VAC uniform. "Hmm...,"he said, "Where did you find him?" "Cave entrance sir," said the gunner. He stood there for a few minutes, then looked at the guards who'd escorted me in. "Back on patrol you two." he said. Then he looked at me. "You," he said, "Come with me." I followed him into a building and he sat down on one of the chairs in the room. "Sit," he said. I did what he said, and he asked me a question. "So, you come from VAC then?" he said. "Yes sir," I said, "But I deserted."He seemed to ponder this for a few minutes. "Well, then what are you doing here then?" he asked. "I came to join sir," I replied. He sat thinking for a couple of minutes. "How did you find out about this base?" he asked, "Not many outsiders know about this location." "Actually sir, I didn't know, " I said, "I thought it was farther north." "Well, I can't accept you, but you seem fine," he said finally, "Here take this, and put on the uniform." He handed me an AR, and a TGI Guard Uniform. He stood up. "After you get on your uniform, get on the wall and patrol. You'll be accepted into the Imperium in a couple of days." He then left the building and walked into the courtyard. I stared at the uniform, then at the AR in my hands. This was the start of my TGI career. |
