Windows XP was made in 2001. So yeah, it is old.
Get windows 7. Far superior operating system.

I might suggest: If you are going for Windows 7, why not Proffesional or Ultimate? They have Windows XP mode which allows you to play games and run programs that normally would run on Windows XP. Since Windows 7 is rather newer, some games and programs MAY NOT WORK without the codes of DirectX 10 or certain DLLs that are different etc. |

@Sonic,
i would agree with you if you are talking about OLD programs which do not update (Which is a normal thing when updating operating systems) However if you are looking at frequently updated products, ALL of them will run with windows 7. It has been out for around three years.

Yet, some games do not update, and most of them being way back in 2000 they might not work, or not work properly. I think it's worth the extra money for the windows XP mode. |
