Alright. As most of us know, Vortex security is a wreck. The past few months sent us nowhere but downhill. But now, we have an oppurtunity. Chibitobi stepped down to let Ariclatios take the stand. No offence to Chibi or any of his admirers, but he was probably a very innefficient clan leader. Instead of addressing VS's main issues, he spent his time showing his friends a flashy duck he won out of a crane machine.
Aric has promised many things to benefit VS. If he is the leader he claims to be, we have a chance. Now, if we metaphorize VS repairs as an apple. Yes, an apple. No, I am not insane. An apple. VS is now an apple, got it? A very big apple. Ariclatios is going to have trouble finishing this apple on his own. And we have all these members idly standing around, watching him eat this apple.
Not amazingly efficient, right? But what if we cut this apple up into pieces. Then we give a piece of the apple to VS members to speed up the process of finishing the apple. This is where we exit the world of apple metaphors and I introduce the idea of factions!
Let us split VS's proven members into different catagories, each tasked with repairation of a unique part of the group. .Combat factions: Competent fighters willing to train the unskilled recruits. .Commercial factions: Advertising the group by creative and original means. .Building/Scripting factions: Creating mechanics and colour schemes to attract people to our forts. .Social factions: Settling hatred towards VS and reconnecting us to the rest of CnG. And so on.
These factions will be independant tasks for members, with any valuable breakthroughs reported back to high ranks. HR's will assign faction leaders when they see a worthy candidate. The faction leader has to run his own little part of VS alone from there. Recruiting new faction members, giving them tasks etc. Faction leaders will benefit by: .Learning valuable leadership skills, necessary for being a great HR. .Play a significant role in the shaping of VS. .AP/CP rewards for exceptional leading of factions.
Faction members will benefit by: .Helping VS by doing what they have a talent in. .AP/CP from faction leaders (forwarded to and approved by HRs, of course). .Possibility of some faction rivalry, which is the best thing next to a war.
HR's will benefit by: .A lot of their more tedious tasks have been taken by the community. .Information and ideas fed to them through factions.
This is just an idea that probably needs more explaining here and there. Now, I feel like eating an apple.

I like this idea. If it ever happens, it won't be immeadite. It will take time for this to go through. I will give this to Aric to look at. It would be fun and cool if this passed.

I had ideas similiar to this as well (Not with VS though obviously).
It could work if put in affect in the correct way. Putting power hungry people as Faction leaders only motivates them to do stuff, whether its negative or positive; they're still doing stuff. |

This is pretty genius. I remember when VS had it's original owner. If there's ever going to be a way to get the glory days back, this idea is it.

@ninja, our HR's are smart enough to know who to put as a faction leader. Apart from the time we let mcflick in...

I question the dedication people will have if we make these, the logic behind the ideas make sense but the people in it, who knows.

Obviously faction leaders will be those who are dedicated to VS, who will recruit those who are also dedicated into their faction. Can't see dedication issues.

I TAKE SOCIAL AND I CAN HELP WITH COMBAT.
I've been trying to start campaigns to fix VS's position in the C&G and C&G forums for a long time.

And why don't we give them generic names, like Alpha, Delta, Gamma, Beta, and so forth.
