WhyTruth is so stupid -.- Mac's use a type of software base called FreeBSD. FreeBSD is also the bases of other Mac-like systems, such as Linux and Unix. Anyways, the workers of Roblox haven't yet perfected Mac-Build/Mac-Game Play, so it isn't Mac's fault. They are great.... too bad for him! |

Linux is based on GNU, not unix or BSD
Idiot.
And if you think just because its based on very core levels of unix doesnt make it stable or secure at all. |

| Linux doenst have to be based on GNU or FreeBSD. They are almost the same please just learn something about the softwares dude. Do large companies like Cisco Systems or Network Appliance use Microsoft to keep their data secure? NOPE They use the GNU/FreeBSD lines to keep their security tight! |

Linux is almost exclusive to GNU.
Microsoft develops home computer operating systems and workstation operating systems, not server operating systems. Windows server is meant to go on a shuttle pc with mulitple harddrives as a home server. |

| Linux and GNU work on the same-ish Unix base. That has nothing to do with stability or security. FreeBSD is used to keep information secure, and the hardware/software compatibility is what keeps the program stable. In the end, we need to be above this nerdy "religious war" and accept that both computer types (Microsoft and Mac) don't work the same way in every field. EI, Mac is not better than Microsoft/PC, PC/Microsoft is not better than Mac. I do not wish to proceed in this Mac vs. Microsoft/PC war any longer. I have a Mac, you have a PC, now get off this form. |

Let me explain this to you two
The Linux kernel is based on the UNIX kernel.
Linus Torvalds released the Linux kernel in 1991.
BSD is a similar kernel in some ways, but most certainly not the same.
FreeBSD is a Unix/Linux-like Operating System that uses the BSD kernel.
Linux is not based on BSD/FreeBSD.
Also FreeBSD is not BSD. That's like calling Ubuntu Linux, when there are tons of other Linux operating systems out there. |

And also the Linux kernel uses GNU coding.
So yes, it does have to use GNU. |

And Macs don't use FreeBSD/BSD in any way unless you put in on your Mac instead of OS X.
Mac has it's own Unix based kernel and uses a very small amount of opensource coding. |
