| How do you find the motivation to make a good game? It takes to long! I can have 100 active places, but that doesn't stop me from saying, "This game is nooby. I'm deleting it!" Even though I'm not even nearly half way through! I hate when I do that! I can't stop! Can someone answer my question? |

Most importantly, inspiration makes motivation, you can't hope to build something without an idea in your head.
My ways of getting inspiration:
Music, big one. I listen to some of my favourite songs to get those creative ideas flowing.
Writing ideas down. If I'm out in real life (as I tend to be most of the time), and see something that catches my eye that I'd like to implament in one of my games, I either take a picture of it or write it down.
Look at art. Get inspiration from other people's inspiration. I tend to make older style buildings, so if I'm looking for some ideas, the first place I look is at older style buildings...
Sleep. Rest and not forcing myself to get an idea tends to make the idea come out much better than if I were to force myself to make something. My brain needs breaks too.
Try some of these and I can bet you'll get some ideas for yourself. |

| I just love to build, design etc. It's a lot of fun, sure it takes time but once it's done you can see it come alive. You just got to love what your doing with it and work on it little by little. |

| Well, a good step is to stimulate yourself, through music, or anything that wakes your brain up. You should also base the game on something that you also enjoy, there's no point trying to make a game based on something that doesn't interest you. Inspiration from other games/places is fine, as long as you don't outright steal ideas, or use free models. Last step would be to learn how to build and script, since this will be the core of your place. Oh, and plan before you build, it helps. |
