What this will do is turn off all physics on a part.
The part cannot be collided with at all, the part will not fall, the part cannot be moved by bodyforce/bodygyro/etc., and the part will not effect the wieght of other parts (if the non-physics part is welded on to another part, the wieght will be of the part which has physics on).
What this is useful for is parts which are welded on to the character. People make suits out of parts by welding many, tiny bits of parts onto the character. However, this effects the character's weight and makes him heavier (so he cannot jump as high and trips frequently). Also, this is happening with hats. If you have a big hat on, it effects the weight of your character so the cosmetics are making you heavier. With a "NoPhysics" property, the parts will be "wieghtless". This is very useful for hats and custom suits so your character will be the same wieght no matter what.
Also, this is useful for stopping collision in suits. When a character is wearing a fancy 100+ part custom suit or has a weapon with many parts welded on to their characters, any collision with the suit/weapon will cause lag. This collision is unnessesary since there is no need for it. The suit does not need collision, this will greatly reduce lag for suit/weapon makers if we have a "NoPhysics" property.
The only way to move the part is to have the part welded onto a "Physics On" part. That will make it so the non-physics part will move along with the physics part, but the non-physics part still won't detect collision, won't effect the wieght of the physics part, etc.
And no, cancollide + anchored will not equal this. One, cancollide is so glitchy and messed up, the parts still detect collision. Two, you can't weld anchored parts onto other parts since that will cause both of the parts to be immoblie.

| 80% support. The only reason I do not fully support is that when you sf without any hats, (basically what will happen if this is passed, as these things will become weightless) you jump whenever you attack. If they would also resolve this problem, I would support. |

Yes. I want to make myself armor suits without the risk of prohibiting my jump ability or flying around because the bricks touch my legs. |

| Its called CanCollide. Turn it off. It can still be welded and everything. If you dont want it to move turn on anchored. What the fudge people. |

| Hats might weigh you down but you can still jump. And it helps with swordfighting so some people still want hats with weight. Thread ended. |

@grantox CanCollide doesn't cancel the object's weight. |

| Use a script that puts the gravity of an object as zero. |

| I agree, although, there are ways to do this with scripting. But, for the less scripting-involved Robloxians, this would be great. |

| If they can't script they probably use free models so you might as well take an antigrav script. |

I support 60%. Because? That'll require Physics scripting, which'll increase the amount of scripting, and make it harder for new learners. It should also be linked to Work-Space, as "NoPhysics" is a property on it's own. That means; A script in the Block, Which may not be so hard to write, but takes time; A set of properties for the block: "NoPhysics Properties: CanCollide, Transparency, Buoyancy, Valued Weight, Average size, Material and other properties Etc." |

@gran
... no.
cancelling the gravity with a BodyForce object does not work, since the character jumps higher no matter how much you spend adjusting the forces.
you have no idea what you are talking about. |
