oh hey, it's mr. "ABIDE DA ROOLZ OR YOU GON GET BAND BRUH BRUH"
first of all, "troll music"? no such thing. yes, there's "internet memes" and "satire", but "troll music"? that's just a stupid label you came up with.
"You know why the Foo Fighters won the 'Best Performance' award at the Emmys? Because ROCK MUSIC IS BETTER THAN POP MUSIC."
no, foo fighters got that award because they appeal to the masses well, but in reality, it's unimaginative boardroom rock
"Classical music- No, not the 1950s, not the 1970s, not the 1980s, but the REAL musicians. These were like Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, etc. They date back to around 1600-1850. This music is very complicated to play. But when you learn this music, it sounds like everything flows. Everything was done the real way back then. Nothing was really 'cheated' on."
the thing about classical music is that it's all about interpretation. played wrong (quick and hard), and you get light, forgettable, "witty" music; played right, something just "clicks," the music starts to breathe, and you get something seductive and malevolent that whispers threats directly to the id. you don't intimately understand the mysticism of this music.
"Pop Music- The catchy tune attracts girls and little kids. The voices are 'perfect' because they EDIT THEM IN EDITING STUDIOS."
i hope you realize that pop music these days can't even try to pretend to be substantial anymore. of course, when there is a time that the planets align and such and such, pop music can actually be "good", but whatever
"There, 1/2 of One Direction and Big Time Rush fans GONE. Also, the girl singer's voices, they try to make them SOUND real, but they're not. Notice how much pressure they have at concerts?"
most music you probably hear is auto-tuned anyway
"Also, one time, I was drinking a thin glass of water, and the glass cracked at one of Katy Perry's songs in the background of a basketball game."
obviously hyperbole |

| Of course, that's not what I meant. I mean, not even I, with such strong opinions I have, would waste time making a thread based around my own thoughts on music.. Like, sure, you can do this with people who share common interests with you, but at least make the opinions you bring forth a little more competent! |

"You must now know what opinion means."
Quit pandering on my intelligence.. Of course I know what "opinion" means!
"I never said "You shouldn't listen to pop music" or "You should listen to rock/metal music"."
I didn't even state that, haha.
"I expressed my opinion."
Okay.
"Problem?"
Hardly. |

"The voices are 'perfect' because they EDIT THEM IN EDITING STUDIOS"
I hope you realize that the only music that isn't edited in some way are insanely rough demos. |

| All music is edited you idiot. Either way, I disagree with this opinion in full honesty. I find some things that are debatable and are terrible generalizations and I even find some of the things to be idiotic to just assume. Your perspective is somewhat idiotic actually. |

@John
I meant to put most <_> But yes even crappy garage bands can be edited, you don't need a studio or top of the notch recording equipment, you can still clean the sound up without it by using something (forgot what but it's something my teacher has that he got for cheap and it cleans sound up and crap) |

WHAT ABOUT LED ZEPPELIN LIVE?
THEY SOUNDED LIKE THE EXACT THING, EXCEPT FOR PLANT. HIS VOCALS WERE FUNNY WHEN HE GOT OLDER.
CAPS LOCK FTW.

| They fixed the sound if they put it on cd (at least if it wasn't a bootleg) but they can mix the sound live now as well. <_> Dammit you knew what I meant by that statement, stop being so damn stupid. <_> |

well, yeah, led zeppelin basically overdubbed their cassette/tapes/whatever so much that they bled through and it looked see through
plus on one track, a un-intentional echo was there, they overdubbed it too much, the song: Whole Lotta Love.
and bohemian rhapsody was like overdubbed about 200+ times

| All the sound channels and instruments need to be edited somehow. You don't want it sounding like a mess. |

"You know me. I listen to both sides of the argument. So here is my opinion."
Ok good.
"Pop Music- The catchy tune attracts girls and little kids."
I'm a teenage guy who likes pop music.
"The voices are 'perfect' because they EDIT THEM IN EDITING STUDIOS."
Pretty much all music goes through editing.
"There, 1/2 of One Direction and Big Time Rush fans GONE."
No, they're still here.
"Also, the girl singer's voices, they try to make them SOUND real, but they're not."
Look at that completely ignorant generalization!
"Notice how much pressure they have at concerts?"
Most artists have pressure to do well at concerts.
"Also, one time, I was drinking a thin glass of water, and the glass cracked at one of Katy Perry's songs in the background of a basketball game."
Now that's just a lie. ....................................................
Anyone who makes music is a real musician.
"Rock/Metal Music- Rock and roll is my personal favorite, but I'll try not to brag. When you listen to the lead singers of rock bands on the radio, they're not perfect. In fact, if the voices are perfect sometimes it ruins the song. Yeah sure, they can swear in their songs. There is nothing you can do about it."
There's swears in most genre's.
"But rock or metal music is just good. They never sing too high. Rock and roll doesn't break thin glasses of water."
How would you know?
"You know why the Foo Fighters won the 'Best Performance' award at the Emmys? Because ROCK MUSIC IS BETTER THAN POP MUSIC."
Now that's just one of the most ignorant things I've ever read. Thats like saying 'this one band won this one award so that must mean rock is better than pop'. Also, Lady Gaga won an Emmy. So by your logic, pop music is better than rock music.
"The only time when pop music was fairly decent was the 'classic' pop in like the 1970s and 1980s."
That's just false. |

In my opinion, it is more about the band/artist or the subgenre (like in metal, there are many genres) And that does not always have to explain your opinion on a genre either. You might dislike a certain Symphonic Metalband, but love the other. (for example) |

| If Katy's singing can crack a glass of water, she hit a pretty darn good note. She's one of the few real pop stars who isn't falling victim to the recording company exploitation. |

"All music is edited. But pop music makes voices sound so 'perfect', rather than rock music. I mean, at least they can express some of their honesty about their singing skills. Some of the pop singer's voices (usually girls), when they get too low, they don't even sound real. When rock singer's voices get low, they make the cracking voice, which I like. Also, pop music to me seems so simple. Get an organ, play random cords, make lyrics, and there.
The song gets 60,000,000 views. Does 1 person view it 60,000,000 times? Or does 10 people view it 6,000,000 times, or does 100 people view it 600,000 times, or does 1000 people view it 60,000 times, or does 10,000 people view it 6,000 times, or does 100,000 people view it 600 times, or a million people view it 60 times, or 6,000,000 people view it 6 times? it is also overplayed on the radio.
Rock music, on the other hand, has a complicated tune, usually. I like rock music because its not basic, not easy to sing, and hard to do. But "The harder something is, the faster you'll be better.""
Rock music doesn't like imperfections either. You're just generalizing. Editing doesn't make them a bad singer, nor does autotune and stuff like that. |

1. Katy didn't sing at the Emmys. 2. Katy just did a year long world tour and was trying to sing a song that was outside her range. ANYONE'S VOICE WOULD BE TIRED! 3. Everyone has bad performances. |
