You tower over him and raise your sword in the air. With a smirk you stab it into the dirt beside his head, and kick him in the noise. He's unconsious as you stalk out of the arena in silence. Some people boo, others just stare. It's obvious that that was your way of rebelling. To decide not to kill. It's something people never do. It's very noble.
No one cares, though. You won. You earned a little slice of rebellion. The leaders of Rome simply smirk. It's cute of you, really. They know perfectly well that you are no danger.
You walk through the halls back through your cell, stared at by your fellow prisoners. They don't know what happened, but you are the only one that has returned. They are sure that you have won. They don't exactly respect you more, since you've only won a match, but people know you aren't simply incompitant.
Training continues the next day. You emerge into the training area, and snap your fingers. The gladiators glance at you, obviously wondering if you are going to try and spar. You are considering it, honestly.
A.Obstacle. B.Sword training. C.Bows. D.Rock lifting. E.Sparring. |

You aren't narcisstic. You beat one, lowlife prisoner. You know that you will have to keep training before you challenge the gladiators. You walk over to the sword training area and began attacking the dummies.
After hours of that, it's clear that you are even better then you were. Not a single gladiator snickers. Instead, they all watch you train, each confidently sizing you up. It's obvious that they take notice of you as you actually tear the sword in half with a vicious blow to a dummies head. You drop the remant of the sword in the sand, and turn to observe. Most people are sitll sparring or doing some other form of sparring, but others are giving you dirty looks. You've made some enemies, but people respect you even more.
The end of that day you are given a gift. An impressed onlooker of yesterdays match has sent you a bronze helmet that is modeled after the old Spartan warriors. You gladly accept, and pledge to wear it in your next match.
Now, every few months in the arena a select few fighters are chosen to fight in a tournemant. The winner of the tournament earns either a shiny piece of armor, weapon, or perhaps a match with the Champion of the arena. You are in the torunament that qualifies members of the tournament. As you begin another training day, you keep the following facts in mind:
*One of the men prefers bows. *One, you've heard, is stronger then you. *One is even more skilled with a sword. *One weilds a golden trident and a net. *One is faster then any other gladiator.
You do not know which of these warriors you will fight.
A.Obstacle course B.Sword training C.Bows D.Rock tossing E.Sparring. |

| A, if we fight the bowman we need to be better at dodging, if we fight the strongman we need to outmaneuver him, if we fight the swordman or trident man same goes for the strongman, I think we can overpower the faster guy though so lets not worry bout him for now |

You decide to spar, and earn yourself more battle experience before this tournament. However, you don't immediatly get to fight a gladiator. You are facing two of the strongest non-gladiators in the arena. Your first opponent weilds a wooden shortsword and a shield. You are equipped with the same weapons.
A ring of gladiators form around you and your opponent. They begin betting, throwing in things from money to weapons. You hear that most bets are against you.
Your opponent is nearly exactly your size, and you've seen that he is pretty good with the sword. It will be a nearly even match. He stands defensively, signaling you to make the first move.
A. You stand still, forcing him to act. B.You march towards him, sword clenched in hand. C.You angrily charge at him. |

You march towards him with a sneer on your face. Your sword is poised for attack as you close in. Suddenly, your opponent throws his shield furiously at you. You knock it out of the air with your own shield in hand, but your opponent was only distracting you. As you recover from stopping the throw he is slashing at your side with the wooden sword. You block it but your opponent continues attacking furiously. You've done nothing to become faster so many blows land on you, stinging like fire. You see now why you were bet against.
The fight will go on until you surrender or are knocked unconsious, you know, so he won't stop anytime soon. You need a way out.
A.Surrender B.Throw your shield at him. C.Block an attack and push forward with your shield in an attempt to stagger him. D. Step on his toes. |

(Roman has entered first on the last few. To be fair, I am giving this choice to alfred.)
He lunges at you, and you block. With all your might you push forward, knocking him on his back. He rolls backwards to stand up, but the moment he is on his feet you've cleaved him on the side. He yelps in pain and clutches at his side with his empty hand. Without wasting time you kick your opponent in the chest. He falls to the sand and lands on his back. He yelps again as you dig your heel into his neck and growl, "Surrender?"
He nods, and you step back. Embarressed he stands and stumbles away. The surrounding gladiators sigh in disappointment as they realize they have lost the bet. However, a good few rejoice in a newfound toy.
Your next opponent is shoved in. He's small, yet fit. Everyone knows him as "Miwok", which means fast. He wields a wooden shortsword. Without hesitating he charges at you and before you can blink he's slapping you on the sides with his wooden weapon. You kick forward and knock him to the sand, and he quickly jumps up. You need a plan.
A.Slash at him as he moves around, trying to get a well timed attack. B.Kick him until heg rows tired. C.Knock him down and dive on him. D.Make him mad. |

You suddenly come up with an idea. As he runs around and attacks you, you mercilessly taunt him. You block him, you hold him far from you so that he is just swinging at air. You call him names and you don't stop. His face reddens as you slowly push him over the line. Soon he is insane with anger. He's lost his sense and he's forgotten your size. He charges you and attacks head on. You kick him in the throat and he flies to the ground. He rolls around and clutches his throat, making gurgling sounds. You laugh as you kick him again. He stands, and stumbles out of the crowd. Gladiators cheer and laugh as he leaves, humiliated.
You are now ready to spar a gladiator. The first is a man taller and stronger then you. However, he is notoriously slow. Even without ever doing a single day of agility training, you are a bit faster then he. That and your cleverness are your only real weapons in this fight. He laughs as he stomps toward you.
A.Charge and stab at his torso. B.Throw your shield at his knee. C.Charge and jump up in an attempt to tackle him to the ground. D.Surrender now. |

Yo chunk your shield at his knee. It spirals into his joint, sending a shock of pain throughout his entire leg. He shouts in pain and slightly buckles. You charge and jump past him, hitting him in the noise with your sword as you pass. You land on your feet behind him and turn. He cluthces his face for a moment, but quickly recovers. He's been hit before, of course. Blood oozes from his nose as he immediatly swings his wooden longsword down on you. Act quickly! A.Dive out of the way. B.Attack first! C.Block it! |

You slash at his stomach, but his reach is longer then yours, something you forgot in your haste. His weapon comes down on your head and everything goes white. You stumble around in circles and fall face first into the sand, unconsious.
You awake the next day in your cell with something that can only be described as a terrible migraine. You don't have time to recover, though. You are being summoned for a match. The last one before the tournament qualifying matches, you are told. You stand, grab your golden bronze helmet and slide it onto your head as you approach the arena.
You're given a sharp, steel shortsword this time. You're rarely given a chance. However, you recieve another last moment gift. Someone has given you ruby red, chainmail lined leggings to wear into battle. With your spartan helmet and your armored pants you emerge into the arena to screaming onlookers. They chant, "Khaidyn, Khaidyn, Khaidyn!" As you walk out. Khaidyn, you know, means "Fighter."
You raise your sword and they cheer again. Apparently, they do not know about your loss at the sparring match. And they loved your first match more then you knew.
Across the arena emerges a man you know is one victory away from Gladitorium. If he kills you today, he will become an elite. He has a lot to fight for, and you are simply fighting for survival. He sends a chill down your spine. His torso is adorned by bronze armor that one of his fans must've sent to him. He also has some leggings like yours that are no doubt lined in chainmail as well. His weapon of choice is a steel longsword.
The arena today is different the usual. There are many uncovered pits you can see that no doubt lead to some terrible from of death.
A.Take a stance inbetween two pits in the middle of the arena. B.Charge at him. C.Stand behind one of the pits and see what he does. |
