| I think it should be allowed. Torture helped America find Osama Bin Laden. |

| Unless you're gonna fly a private jet over into terrorist country to torture them, it would be useless. Most terrorists die in their acts of mass murder. |

| No. They are still a person. The term 'terrorist' is usually used to dehumanize a foe, leading to mass paranoia about said terrorists, which will usually lead to war/inhumane torture. |

Ohhhhhhhh... I think I feel a rant coming on...
Anyway, why would you want to torture someone in the first place? Simply to get information out of them? If they are loyal enough, they will let you torture them until you die. And then you're gonna feel bad because killing them like that makes you no better than them. Of course, military changes you, so I guess it wouldn't have as much effect on one of those soldiers. Secondly, violence isn't the answer to all problems. The Middle East hates the US, for example. Well, do they not have their reasons? For one thing, they don't like us for our religion. That's enough to send a terrorist after us. Another reason is because we kill a bunch of their leaders. Of course they want revenge! Violence won't solve problems. Well, it will, but only a short period of time will pass before another springs up BECAUSE of that. See? Violence causes a never-ending chain reaction of explosions and bloodshed. Maybe instead of going to war with them, we should try to forge peace! It's not like they're going to shoot unarmed soldiers on sight, because they're unarmed. Unarmed men are of no threat to a military. So perhaps, instead of killing millions, we should try to be allies, or at least keep a temporary peace, because as you can see, this "War on Terror", is getting us nowhere. |

Ehh torturing some guy who probably doesn't mind dying to save thousands?
I'd say it's okay, as a last resort. |

Well obviously not! How do you think this whole thing started? Terrorists! A temporary peace will simply keep us from killing each other for a few years until someone breaks it. Simply because the terrorists don't want peace doesn't mean that the leaders of the countries aren't reasonable! Given the proper incentive, I believe anyone can make, and keep, a temporary peace. Killing more and more of their leaders ins't going to help anything. Empty terror threats will continue to be sent, and obviously, setting up defenses just scares them off more. Given proper incentive, ANYONE can have peace. |

| But they don't want peace, even temporarily. Also, the leader of Iran and Syria and Lebanon are all unreasonable people. |

How can you say that? Anyone can be reasonable, even if they don't know that they're showing it. I can be reasonable, you can be reasonable, EVERYONE on this thread has a reasonable side, and most people around the world do too. You can't simply ASSUME that because they have a nuclear arsenal ready to fire at someone, doesn't mean that you can't reach an agreement.
Alright, I give up. There's obviously no changing your mind, so I might as well stop now. |

When Japan tortured US POWs in WWII, we considered that a war crime, but youknow, everything is okay when the US does it. Torture is inhumane, i don't believe in causing unnecessary pain and suffering to any human being, regardless of what they've done. Seriously, Waterboarding is horrific, it's designed to cause the pain and panic of drowning over a long period of time, and you don't even have death to look forward to. Unless you'd be willing to endure waterboarding, you cannot tell me that it is humane.

You all are being stereotypes. Your implying that all middle easterners are terrorists, and are using the term 'terrorist' to alienate another's culture.
Also, you can't imply that they don't want peace. You don't even know a thing about why they do it, their intentions, and what they're hoping to get out of it. You all are media victims. Everything the US does, is perfectly fine, but everything else another country does, is a warcrime. Everybody wants peace, but some people will do it so far that it would require killing lots of people.
Like, when the US invaded Iraq because of 'mass weapon of destruction', they were just invading because they wanted to steal the oil. Then what happened? The Iraqis fight back, and what did the US do? Called them terrorists. It's called an act of defending your country.
Also, US Drone Attacks have killed thousands of people, thousands more than the victims of 9/11. US officials refused to talk about them, and the ones that do, implied that the attacks are for 'security' reasons.

LOLOLOLOL
If we invaded for oil, we would've went in, killed everyone in our way, took oil, and left.
Did we do that, NOPE.
Did we get any free oil from ANY WARS IN THE MIDDLE EAST?
NO.
Oil prices have gone UP SINCE THE WARS.
You're an idiot. |

The terrorist groups the US and NATO fight are completely dedicated to the downfall of western society, so no one wants peace.
And I believe torture is necessary in certain instances. |
