I'm currently making a house in studio, but it is CONSTANTLY lagging and making is annoying to build in. There arn't that many bricks, but it is super slow and it's really starting to pee me off.
Any help? |

| Either try putting your bricks into models or your computer is slow. |

| I have an almost brand new computer, Windows Seven, got it at Christmas 2011 so it can't be that. |

| Doesn't matter. Not all computers are meant for gaming. |

| Go to Tools -> Settings. Navigate to the Rendering tab. Scroll a bit to Quality and turn off some of the stuff. I have Antialiasing off of course (causes major lag, but no one uses it anyway) and bevels (hate 'em). Most of the toggleable features in that section are just to turn the quality of materials up and down. They're probably automatic, but if you think materials are causing you lag, set them all to low or medium. I have truss detail on high, though, because I need to be able to see different kinds of trusses. |

Open Roblox Studio Click Tools at the very top Click Settings... Click OK Click Rendering Click the arrow beside Bevels Click Off Click Close Click OK Exit out of every Roblox window open Play Roblox Enjoy the EPIC amount of lag reduced!

@Rushour:
I lag all the time with quality on auto. I'm not quite sure how well studio detects our level of lag, but I'm not satisfied with the results regardless. I used to adjust them a lot, but now since I haven't been playing with materials much I just leave them as they are, with the exception of bevels and trusses.
Also, how'd that drag race go? Did you sleep well? |

@Arbirator:
This shuts off most materials if I remember correctly. I prefer being able to see them, lag or not. |

@Cat
Okay then. If I lag more with auto quality, I'll change settings in studio. Thanks. |

@xspm:
I've heard about this trick and that seems to be what's behind the code of effective anti-lag scripts. Problem is, it doesn't really help in Build or Edit. All my places are showcases and don't really have problems with lag or it simply doesn't matter that they do lag, so all the time spent in them is in Studio. Naturally, grouped objects get in the way of the editing process, lagless or not, so I have to ungroup them just to work, which defeats the purpose. |

@Tastyvomit:
Edit Mode is more limiting than Build Mode is, and has the same problems that Build Mode is bound to have. There's no reason to use that over Build Mode. |

| Build mode is better because you can get stuff like c-frame resize, which is excellent at time saving. |

| Anything you can do in Build Mode, you can do in Edit Mode. |
