Who do you idolize the most in terms of artwork?
I idolize LilChu, on DeviantART. |

i know more about van gogh than i do any other artist, i suppose i like him the most however, i also the like surrealist works of margritte and dali. as well as whatever vladmir kush claims that his paintings are (he's more modern). realism, as in caravaggio and vereshchagin, is really admirable, but not always as interesting. my favourite da artist is =torture-device. |

| I wouldn't call myself an artist, but when it comes to art, I'm pretty good and creativity is one thing I definitely have, but I don't idolize any artists. |

| it's not good to idolise any one person too much, because then you get swamped in your own influences and you can't branch out |

I really only know obvious facts about the older artists. Like Van Gogh's ear. And by that, I mean I don't know any of their works. Oddly enough, a more of a "true" artist would say that the older artists are more pointful, whereas I see more to modern and even digital artists. I'll look up that DA artist, as well. |

there's nothing wrong with preferring modern artists (it's still worth knowing about the contemporary ones though) to say that something is bad simply because it is newer... is absurd
a lot more effort goes into most paintings than does digital pieces, but that doesn't mean great things can't still come out of digital art |

Well, it just feels as though not knowing makes me seem, for lack of a better phrase, "less than an artist."
Also, I looked up that guy. His stuff seems possibly politically incorrect, but it's very well done. |

that's just because the rich don't pay millions of dollars for amazing digital paintings
and that's not because they're bad, it's because digital paintings don't have 'originals', copies are always the same

i like to read his journals, not because i agree with him, but because i don't it's nice to see the world through the eyes of somebody who doesn't conform to everyone else's opinions |

Makes sense. I'm sort of like that with ROBLOX. I believe 2007 was horrible, and am trolled for it. =P |
