Because yall wouldn't reply to my first one
WHY I AM DOING THIS: Late last night I got boerd so I decided to watch highlights/read scouting reports of ALOT of draft prospects(spent 2 hours on it),I then looked at each team's biggest needs along with some mock drafts(spent 3 hours on that) so instead of letting what I watched go to waste I decided to compile this mock draft. MUFFIN'S MOCK DRAFT (ROUND 1)
1.INDIANAPOLIS COLTS-Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford: Luck has all the tools to be a great starting QB in the NFL. This pick is a no-brainer. However, he may fail if the Colts don't surround him with WRs and an O-Line (they lost their Saturday to FA, which will be a big hit to their line). Also give Indy credit for knowing when to be really bad at just the right time.
2. WASHINGTON REDSKINS(from STL)-Robert Griffin The III, QB, Baylor: RGIII is an electrifying player who can blossom into a top 10 QB under Mike Shannahan. He is very mobile but throws first and runs second. However, like all mobile QBs, he may fail if he becomes injured to much and burns out.
3. MINNESOTA VIKINGS-Matt Kalil, OT, USC- I don't think the Vikings will draft a QB with this pick, for there is still hope that Christian Ponder will become a franchise QB(i am one of those believers). They are a flawed football team, lets just be honest about that, but the O-Line is struggling the most, Kalil will allow the Vikes to move Johnson to guard. Also don't be surprised if the Vikes pick Claiborne here. He may fail if his inexperience (he only started 2 years at USC) catches up to him.
4. CLEVELAND BROWNS-Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma St.-Wherever Blackmon goes he will be the #1 WR. He is great at getting after the ball while it is in the air. He can come back to the ball & shield defenders with his size. He will provide Colt McCoy with a lethal weapon. His weaknesses are he isn't very fast and if he isn't in the mix early he may lose his focus and not sell out on his route. He has been compared to Baltimore WR Anquain Boldin. Don't be surprised if Claiborne or Trent Richardson are picked here also.
5. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS- Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU-While Claiborne was overshadowed by the "Honey Badger", he is the best CB in the draft. He is really athletic and can help a Bucs secondary that struggles. He may fail because of how undersized he is (he is 5'11 188 pounds) and he relies to much on his athleticism, he may also fail due to his poor tackling technnique and doesn't get a good jam at the line, so he may struggle with physical WRs, he also has a tendency to get lazy in his technique and gambles to much. He also struggles in zone coverage
6. SAINT LOUIS RAMS(from WASH.)-Reily Reiff, OT, Iowa- The Rams may also draft a WR here, but I expect them to do that in the 2nd round. Bradford needs protection and Reiff can give him that. He is solid in pass protection but he thrives in run blocking, he is strong and powerful at the point of attack. He has good awareness but he struggles with hand placement, which could make him fail.
7. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS-Courtney Upshaw, LB, Alabama- This will surprise everyone. The consenes is that the Jaguars will draft a WR or a DB, but knowing the Jags, they will probably draft Upshaw. He is a good pass rusher with 8.5 sacks and 11 QB rushes last season for the Crimson Tide. He will be a good player, but it still doesn't make up for the Jag's biggest needs.
8. MIAMI DOLPHINS-Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M-It would be a huge understatement to say this offseason hasn't gone as planned for the 'Fins. They missed out on the Manning sweepstakes and in the process also missed out on Matt Flynn, so they signed David Garrad as consolation. Tannehill only had 19 starts at A&M as a QB, which shows inexperience but can also be a good sign seeing as how good he has become in only 19 games. He had an impressive Pro-Day. He has all the physical tools, intangibles(such as maturity, intelligence, and work ethic), to be a QB in the NFL. Also don't underestimate the fact that former Aggie coach Mike Sherman is now the OC for the 'Fins.
9. CAROLINA PANTHERS-Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi St.-The Panthers need a pass rush after finishing last in the league in that category. Fletcher is a very underrated player in this years draft. He is a terrific athlete with all the physical tools you are looking for, and he would be a perfect fit as the Panther's three-technique and would give the Panthers a legitimate interior pass rush. *TRADE ALERT* Carolina could trade this pick to the 49ers.
10. BUFFALO BILLS-Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor-The missing peice to the Bills' offense is a WR, Stevie Johnson is good but the Bills need a #2 WR. Their biggest need this offseason was filled when the Bills signed LB Mario Williams. Floyd is the 3rd best WR in this year's draft and showed he can make a play when called upon.
11. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS- Dontari Poe, NT, Memphis-The KC Chiefs rebuilding effort has been going great but one big position they need to upgrade on is nose tackle, as 35 year old Kelly Gregg is just a temporary solution. Poe is a 346 pound space-eater in the middle but is surprisingly athletic, quick and agile, which were displayed when he ran a 4.98 40 yard dash at the combine and did 44 reps in the bench press. He can play nose tackle in both the 4-3 or 3-4 scheme. He is also a versitle player and could see action on defense.
12. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS- Luke Kuechly, MLB, Boston College-The linebacker position in Seattle is in a state of flux and the 'Hawks will need to add atleast 1 more LB. He has outstanding instincts and underrated athleticsism, he has been compared to the likes of Keith Brooking. Don't rule out Tannehill falling to Seattle here either
13. ARIZONA CARDINALS- Cordy Glenn, OT, Georgia- The Cards have a questionable situation at OT for a couple of years now but they can only tempt fate for so long. Glenn is the big blocker Ken Whisenhunt have been looking for.
14. DALLAS COWBOYS-Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama-Dallas needs alot of things, they need a saftey, a O-line and I wouldn't be surprised if they need a new janitor while they are at it. This pick has become a rock, paper, scissors game now. Jenkins blanketed WRs at the Senior Bowl. Many people forget how good he was at Florida. His character has been the biggest question surrounding him but Jerry Jones has shown recently to draft players with character issues (hi Dez Bryant).
15. PHILIDELPHIA EAGLES-Quinton Coples, DT, University of North Carolina-Philly is in good shape as far as the O-Line goes. After passing on JPP a few years ago don't expect the Iggles to do it again. He has racked up 24 sacks as a Tar Heel and has outstanding size. SIDE NOTE: there are reports saying the Eagles may bring in Ryan Tannehill for a private workout.
16. NEW YORK JETS-Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech-Hill has raw route running mainly due to the scheme he has been working with but he has shown to get seperation. His biggest strength is his body control. He has good hands and is good at body catching (though it isn't advised that a WR do body catches).
------------------------------HALFWAY POINT :O-------------------------------------
17. Cincinatti Bengals (from OAK)-Michael Brockers, DT, LSU-The Bengals have a tendency to gravitate toward freakish physical specimens such as Brockers. He is undeniably raw yet oosing with potential. Though a LB isn't the biggest draft need for the Bengals, I have him coming off the board here.
18. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS-David DeCastro, OG, Stanford-The Chargers have addressed their biggest needs (WR and OLB) in Free Agency. With All-Pro Dielman being forced into retirement the left guard position is suddenly a major concern. DeCastro would be an oustanding replacement because of his size, his physicallity and his aggressiveness. He is also mobile and able to get out into space.
19. CHICAGO BEARS-Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina-The Bears need a O-line yet they sound content with who they have right now. He has all of the physical tools you look for in a CB and he is a ballhawk in the secondary.
20. TENNESSEE TITANS- Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina-Upon close examination of the Titans' roster it is tough to find glaring holes, but there are alot of areas that could use upgrading. Ingram is versitle and can contribute pretty much anywhere on the D-Line. Above all, he is a playmaker, and the Titans could seek some help at CB now that Cortland Finnegan is gone.
21. CINCINATTI BENGALS- Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama-I honestly think Kirkpatrick has been overrated. From what I saw of him he isn't made to be a CB and would fit better at the Free Saftey position.
22. CLEVELAND BROWNS (from ATL)-Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford- He is a great TE and produced impressive stats at Stanford. This will be a surprise pick. This pick could give the Browns a deadly combo with Blackmon(if he is drafted) and him.
23. DETROIT LIONS- Johnathan Martin, OT, Stanford-A major weakness of the Lions is their o-line. At 6'6 and weighing in at 304 pounds, he could be a nice addition to their line. They may also draft a CB here, don't rule out Kirkpatrick falling here.
24. PITTSBURGH STEELERS- Dont'a Hightower, ILB, Alabama-It is a pressing need that the Steelers need an inside pass rush, and Hightower can provide it. Not only can he play ILB he can also see action as a OLB.
25. DENVER BRONCOS- Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State-Worthy can provide the presence the Broncos need in the interior d-line. He has alot of talent, but he doesn't always live up to it. But when he is he is a dominant pass rusher and can become one of the better three-techniques in the league.
26. HOUSTON TEXANS-Rueben Randle, WR, LSU-The Texans need a 2nd WR. He lacks eye-popping stats though that can be due to the pathetic play of LSU QBs. The Texans may also draft someone along the O-Line or a LB.
27. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS(from NO)-Andre Branch, OLB, Clemson-The Pats once again have multiple 1st round draft picks and should use them to address their defense, specifically their pass rush. The Pats need someone who can be a threat off the edge, and that is Branch. Branch has the ability to suceed in the 4-3 or 3-4.
28. GREEN BAY PACKERS- Nick Perry, OLB, USC-Lets be honest, the Packers defense was horrifying, and in a bad way, last season. Adding Perry can create a dual-threat between him and Clay Matthews. He is a beast racking up 29.5 tackles for a loss and 21.5 sacks in three seasons as a Trojan. He is one of the most explosive edge pass rushers in the draft.
29. BALTIMORE RAVENS- Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin- The Ravens are the best in the league at addressing their needs. They need to upgrade at center to keep Flacco upright.
30. SAN FRANSICO 49ers- Alshon Jeffrey, WR, South Carolina-The 49ers need a #2 WR. Randy Moss isn't a #2 WR in my opinion, he is more of a #3 WR at this point in his career. Don't be surprised if the 49ers trade up to the #9 pick to draft someone like Kendall Wright.
31. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS-Kendall Reyes, DL, Connecticut- They need to upgrade their DL due to only having blue-chip starter Vince Wilfork remaining from that legendary trio. Reyes is strong and could fit in well with Belichek's 4-3 and 3-4.
32. NEW YORK GIANTS- Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State-The New York Giants need to upgrade their pathetic o-line and Adams can do that. He has good size at 6'7 and 323 pounds, but he is coming off a knee injury. He was also one of the players suspended for 5 games at Ohio State for you-know-what.
Let the debating begin! Fun Fact: When I pasted this onto Microsoft word it had more than 2,000 words and was 5(almost 6) pages long. |

| Kendall Wright is just like Kyle Williams just smaller, and slower. If the 49ers would trade up for anybody it would be for David DeCastro. |

@donny go watch some highlights of him. I was impressed. The 49ers need a #2. not a #1. |

The 49ers need an offensive guard...
Daniel Kilgore isn't dominate or experienced enough to start. DeCastro would know Harbaugh's playbook by heart. |

I dont think the 49ers will add a WR in the 1st round anymore... I think they will grab someone else.
I think they get Kevin Zeitler. |

| they may do that, but with their low draft pick they may not be able to get a great one, maybe a good one, but not a great one, so they'd probably have to trade up, which is something that could make an owner avoid putting someone high on their draft board. |

| There is a risk of every draftee to be a bust. Also there is a ton of talent all around the draft. The big-named talents get drafted in the first few rounds though. |

| The big thing is what the Bucs and Browns do at their positions... Those 2 picks will alter the entire draft... The first 3 picks are ALMOST predictable... |

The biggest problem I have in this mock draft is...
Trent Richardson isn't drafted.... I have the Browns drafting him. |

| The 49ers have no interest in a small receiver. They are looking for viable red zone targets. |

@donny He is one of the fastest WRs in the draft and is an excellent PUNT RETURNER that could BACKUP ted ginn jr. instead of that williams d00d. |
