Listen, at first, yeah i hated them. The first few were fine however the others after didn't allow you to do ANY form of customisation with them, which i simply didn't like. You see, despite roblox being blocky and legoish, it's main aspect is creativity. If the bodies provided that, then it's all fine. People seem to complain at the fact that roblox is getting new bodies, I say to that...What is the problem? The bodies don't look anything like other games like lego and blockland. If they WERE, they would have sued roblox. It's obvious that those companies are fine with it so there is no problem there.
Another thing i seem to see is that people constantly want to keep the way roblox looks the same. People use the fact that there is "blox" in "roblox" as an excuse to keep the game consistent. They keep this as an excuse that they shouldn't change NOTHING with the characters, which for me is a problem. You see, people don't tend to realise that those bodies aren't necessarily for users to use, but more of a tool for roblox game designers to use in their games. Sure it's also a social item, but it is ALSO a way for users to create charecters IN GAME simply and easily.
I think that people have forgotten that building is what roblox is about. And stating that it is "ROBLOX" not "RO-OTHERBLOCKS" or something is completely idiotic. I mean, when roblox released the sphere to play around it, nobody cared, despite it being called ROBLOX.
Granted, they shouldn't have made any faces for the roblox characters to show off, because maybe that isn't really roblox's art direction and by showing faces, it show's limited creativity.
So don't whine, don't pout, dont scream like a little girl as if the world is ending. Roblox is what it is, and i think they SHOULD add all those things, not for the social peoples sake, but for the game designers and creators.

@xcn Basically everyone is using that dumb, "It's called ro-BLOX not ro-PEOPLE" saying and it is a really bad excuse. |

You make a very good point. However...
Let us start by observing the classic character: A simple combination of two yellow bricks for arms, two bricks for legs, another brick for the torso, and a rounded cylinder for the head. This character is much more than meets the eye: it is a completely accurate representation of Roblox itself.
First off is the shape of the body parts. While most of them are square, representing the block-based construction that Roblox is based around, the head is a shape resembling closely that of a Lego minifig. Due to the popularity of the Lego toys, this head implies Roblox's similarity to them, so that any new player whom is familiar with the Lego franchise will immediately look at it and think of a minifig. Similarly, the yellow skin color also shares similarity with the Lego minifigures.
Second, the high contrast between the colors of adjacent body parts. This is used to clearly state that the character is made up of multiple individual parts, again putting emphasis on the block-based building aspects of Roblox.
Finally, the character bore the Roblox logo on its chest, in order to mark its ownership to the game.
In conclusion, a newcomer, simply by looking at a Roblox character, can immediately determine that "Roblox is a game where you build with blocks which are like Legos."
Now, continuing on to the more modern character. Let us take the example of the newer bodies. For this example, I will refer to the Korblox Mage package.
Again starting from the shape of the body parts, the Korblox Mage package uses a shape for body parts which is just strange. It is not in the slightest block-based, and is rather based to be of a more humanoid shape, except with a fatal flaw: it still has the same articulation as the normal character.
Think of any character in any other video game which has this much detail in the design of the character. They all have knees and elbows and can usually move their wrists, ankles, and fingers. The reason is that adding this articulation is much easier than the creation of the character models themselves.
Continuing on, there is no contrast at all between the body parts. They all look like one thing. This completely drowns out the message of block-based building originally portrayed. This style emhasizes more on just... Existing. It's already there. It is what it is. You don't get to change it.
Finally, the Korblox Mage package just doesn't fit. It is much higher graphics quality than pretty much anything you'll find in the environment of Roblox because reaching that level of quality in Roblox is incredibly difficult. Roblox has greater support for the simple block-based building it was based upon.
In conclusion, packages are terrible. |

Look, many people automatically assume that the classic body is being replaced-it is not. And odds are, it will STAY the most used body and will STAY as the roblox trademark.
Now before i go on, let me state one thing: Roblox is a GAME CREATION TOOL. It is technically NOT a game.
yes, you CAN play games, but the MAIN aspect of roblox is MAKING games. Therefore, players should have a wide range of tools to use. In fact, it would have made more sense to have added them SOONER into the game, because they are such a basic thing to be added.
YOU may not like that Korblox Mage pack, but some guy who is making an RPG, will incorporate it into their game.
YOU may not like the Phoenixgarde Knight, but some guy who is making a SPACE GAME, will incorporate it into their game.
YOU may not like robloxian 2.0, but some guy who is making a town and city game, will incorporate it into their game.
Etc.
You seem to be forgetting that it's not about how you look, it's about the GAME making experience. That is why roblox works their heart out to make game creating as convenient as possible for the newer and inexperienced user, and then posts it onto the blogs. THAT is why they decided to make bodies all that time ago. Sure they made it also for the users to play around with, but it was ALSO for the creators, and we shouldn't forget that.
You are arguing for consistency, which really doesn't make sense in a game all about creativity and variation.
