iMac -Beautiful.-no -Well designed, won't brake on you for the next couple of years, maybe decades-that goes for any computer so long as you maintain it -If you brake your Mac, Apple will gladly fix it/replace it for free-it's called warranty, hurrdurr -Wireless Mouse and Keyboard-logitech. dell has one too. -Just one cord to plug in-think of how much electricity is loaded to that one -The OS is beautiful, works right out of the box, without any need to install anything else.-can't run most games -Safari is actually a decent browser-no it isn't
Windows -Cheap.-you need to know what to look for, hurrdurr -Horrible design, cheap plastic keyboard and retarded looking cheap plastic mouse-logitech, or buy a keyboard -Wired Mouse and Keyboard, for more hassle-buy a logitech keyboard then -Crapload of cords to plug in, takes about 30 minutes-manuals, bro -Tons of bloatware on new computer, reinstall OS-can't deny that -IE sucks-GOOGLE CHROME |

"brake"
no longer taking you seriously
"Apple will gladly fix it/replace it for free"
yeah, if it breaks the day after you buy it, maybe
"maybe decades"
my dad's macbook lasted him 3 years
my PC lasted me 5 years before I upgraded it in order to play more cpu intensive games
>all of the windows drawbacks
those only apply to certain computers |

I feel odd since I'm probably one of the few people here who could set up a window's tower in no time at all.
Oh, and here's another thing to think about.
Windows: -Can easily be built for rigs. -Is viewed as the dominate OS, so programs using this OS have less bugs -Has more freedom in programs than macs. -Hardware can be upgraded. iMacs: -Can't be built easily, and rigs using the Macintosh-style OS don't quite work well with the custom parts. -Is growing in capability, but many programs still do not support it/are glitchy as hell. -Has less system options, meaning that some things will run a set way, without any way for you to change that. -Hardware cannot be upgraded.
And from my experience, iMacs run slower than PCs. But that is just from my own observations when fixing the settings on friend's computers. (; |

Wireless keyboards/mice don't cost $70... You can just buy it online.
I don't wish IE was decent, because I don't use it. :) |

Ah, my bad.
So we've decided that the deciding factor is that it has one cored to plug in.
OK, go ahead and spend that extra money for that one cored, I'll be setting up my tower in a couple of minutes because I actually know how to set up window OS Computers. (; |

Okay then, what do you use a computer for?
I understand using an iMac if your job is Music based. Anything else isn't needed.
Also, Linux has wine, and has a penguin as a mascot, so I'ma use Ubuntu instead, 'kay? |

Cheap? CHEAP?
BAHAHAHA
AHAHAHA
You can find literally 5.2 GHz Windows computers with Quad GTX 680 SLI and 300GB SSD's.
Try to find a Mac that does that. |

For $10,000?
Au contraire.
$3,000. True story. I built it with my own bare hands. Get a Mac that beats that. |

oh and also, as my last post of the night and because i'm feeling COFFEE ADASFASDA: UPGRADABILITY/PERFORMANCE/OVERLOCKING.
Macs literally can't be upgraded. You'd have to do a full system wipe. and fyi that's gonna take a long time.
Performance? sure, standard Mac models are better than standard Windows models. but try to get an 8-core Mac, or one with three graphics cards. SPOILERS: You can't.
Overclocking? Give me a second, I'm trying not to laugh. |
